so every year city paper does a comics contest where people send their shit in and the winner gets published for a year. the winner this year is so bad that i wont even link to it. (you can find it yrself with a little searching, if you must.) but number two shoulda won. the second one in particular gives me slight hope for humanity.

About half of 'the best of the rest' are better than the winner. Sheesh.

Dirt Farm is my favorite thing about the Washington City Paper. It's really slick compared to his minicomics, which are also the bee's knees. He works at the Washington City Paper as a production artist or something.

Didn't the City Paper's annual contest also yield the shittiest comic strip ever?

Ha ha, I am also one of those people that thinks Craig Thompson’s Blankets is a good graphic novel because it was well drawn and very, very long.

it is a good graphic novel, but it's not a *very* good graphic novel

MOMMA: Wednesday, Marylou declares that she looks like Nicole Kidman. "Everybody looks like an uglier version of some hot movie star . . . " Francis replies. True! Nicole Kidman, for instance, looks like an uglier version of Ray Milland.
