Half the shit's online in HQ ,may as well appreciate the stuff that's drawn good.
Of course everyone knows the best art is in doujinshis where quality can't succumb to the evils of deadlines but most of that is hentai which isn't really my thing. That being said, maybe NSFW at some point.
Start with not Berserk because Berserk.

Also this thread will include Chinese Manhua and Korean Manwha which probably should have been reflected in the thread title

I'm pretty sure I'm going to regret having not uploaded some of the earlier images to a dedicated host as they'll go down soon enough but w/e
Brief descriptions of the Mangas, English language publishing details and cover pages wouldn't have hurt but w/e ain't enough hours in a day for a do over.
"Ore to Akuma no Blues" - Akira Hiramoto (2003 - 2008) Del Rey Manga- discontinued)
Very fictional account of blues legend Robert Johnson life with the whole myth of him selling his soul to the Devil in exchange for blues mastery taken quite literally. Engaging if occasionally tedious read, some of the best panelling you'll see anywhere plus it's always jarring (in the best way possible) to read interpretations of specific cultures and histories that emerge from sources that are decidedly other. Discontinued for reasons I don't quite understand (google translate of jp wiki was not so illuminating).http://i.imgur.com/vobGBaI.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/jCQmJqD.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/V9ubEzI.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/FffWhRs.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/qm0XBKj.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/DQmFrgh.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/U56rJNt.png

Same creator but different manga. This one is called Gyo. I actually came really close to posting something from Uzumaki, but I couldn't find my favorite image from it. I highly recommend anything by Junji Ito, actually. He's probably my favorite manga artist.
This one is from Hellstar Remina. https://sweettalkconversation.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/hellstar1.jpg

"Feng Shen Ji" - Cheng Kin Wo, Tang Chi Fai (2010-) Bookone
Bit of a weird one all things considered. Manhuas have enjoyed a lot less prominence and popularity than Mangas in the west despite being much closer in style and presentation to American superhero comics but then again that's probably why they've never made a mark and probably why this won't be to everybody's tastes.
It's a twist on your typical wuxia fare in that your protagonist here is an obnoxious, egotistical asshole and the story is pretty engaging. That aside it's here because the art represents the best of the dominant Hong Kong style (hyper detailed/photorealistic/colourful) that was birthed by Ma Wing-shing's "Chinese Hero" in the 80's. Kind of amazing that they've been able to put out 30 pages of this every 2 weeks over 150 odd issues.http://i.imgur.com/fiywo2Q.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/FMikcW2.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/pnxNIiW.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/847n3GF.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/lR25LnP.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/SX6TvSQ.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/o2HjgW9.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/sIhvAGo.jpg

Always wanted to read Fourteen, I've never really found my way around downloading scans. Maybe someday.
I saw a pile of Hong Kong comics in a charity shop once. There used to be a few American publishers who translated the stuff. Image even put out a bunch of them.

Dunno whether to look for a download or wait til I've finished loads of other stuff and maybe then there's a chance of official translation. Can't stand those manga reading sites and I vastly prefer jpeg collections over files for comic reader programmes. Ebooks still don't seem to have made any serious impact on what gets officially translated.
I think it was a mistake to not have Drifting Classroom in omnibus format.

This tumblr is enormous. All sorts of things I've never heard of.
Had an interesting time looking through Amazon Japan in preview pages, sometimes it lets you see the majority of the book.
There's actually a lot of original Japanese Umezu books for sale on UK and USA versions of Amazon. I'm a little tempted because sometimes just reading the images can be interesting but most of them are volumes in a long series. Along with Drifting Classroom and Fourteen there's My Name Is Shingo, Orochi Blood and Left Hand of God Right Hand of the Devil.
Curse Of Kazuo Umezu animation is worth watching on youtube. The first story is creepy.
