Unofficial survey sez: ILC will luv Klarion, Shulkie, and Runaways (if their name isn't Leeeeeeeeeeeeee). Leeee has the last issue of Authority: Revolution, tho, so don't weep. Masochists will love Justice. And someone w/ money to spare and a heart of newsprint will gladly show love for the Marvel Masterworks collection of Golden Age Human Torch. Also, Transformers #0 (by that Furman guy).

I will be buying:
Batman: When Bruce Wayne receives a package containing Booster Gold's goggles, the Dark Night Detective immediately instructs Alfred to forward all future incoming mail to Roy Raymond, TV Detective.
Green Lanter Corps: Recharge: On their way to investigate GIANT TEARS IN SPACE-TIME, Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner drop parts of their uniforms in the post: "Batman c/o BRUCE WAYNE, GOTHAM CITY" and giggle.
She-Hulk: GUEST STARRING BLACK LIGHTNING!

and that's it! Ha ha ha ha. I'm winning!

Lucifer
Klarion
Walking Dead
nu-Top Ten
Daredevil Decalogue TP (is this the last of the Bendis/Maleev run or do they still have one arc left?)
Runaways
She-Hulk

Damn, that's a pretty good week!

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 13:30 (twenty years ago)

Bendis & Maleev are about halfway through their FINAL ULTIMATE (but not "Ultimate") Daredevil story, "The Murdock Papers" with Kingpin offering to trade Daredevil's ID for immunity from prosecution. Even though everybody knows Daredevil is Matt Murdock anyway. That's the one part of Bendis's run that I really don't understand. He outs Murdock, but, um, despite the fact that Daredevil makes several appearances sans mask, Murdock continues to deny it, and, um, the people say okay? What kind of fantasy land is this?
But crappers, I'm starting to get buzzed for Brubaker and Lark!!!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 13:54 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but it's not PROOF proof - it's just him pulling off his mask or flouncing around in public where only bystanders can claim it's him. That's how I justify it, anyway.

Here's the LIST btw.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

But, dude, there's been an FBI team assigned to surveille him. I mean, even being a cynical fuck, I have some faith that the Feebs aren't completely incompetent.

I'm gonna start a thread.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 17:00 (twenty years ago)

I'll have you know that I just added Runaways to my pulls!

Leeeeeeeeee (Leee), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 02:42 (twenty years ago)

Oh no, I forgot to buy She-Hulk!

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 21:54 (twenty years ago)

Why can't Green Lantern be as good as Green Lantern Corps: Recharge? I mean, if the whole idea behind Rebirth and all the hoo-ha was to show how Hal Jordan was some kinda cool-ass superhero, why are Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner (not to mention Stel) makin' it look so easy in outer space?

Where is Doug Mahnke? I almost didn't really miss him in this week's Batman, howev, as the fill-in dude pulled off everything that's cool about Jim Lee's art with none of the hubris. Or wait, doesn't hubris = everything that's cool about Jim Lee's art?
Do you even know what hubris means, Huk?

She-Hulk, haven't read it yet. I read the first half of the last series in trade, and the second half in chunks of three at a time, so I'm a little timid about just taking one issue in.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 20 October 2005 13:49 (twenty years ago)

Birds of Prey - Calculator recruits some dudly B-list villains to track down the Birds. Next month - Green Arrow and his righteous finger!!!!

She-Hulk - hurrah, the original cool artist is back!! they moan at people who "wait for the trades"! many varieties of Avenger (new! young! adjectiveless! ) appear.

Mark C (Markco), Thursday, 20 October 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

Are you shitting me about Green Arrow, Mark?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 20 October 2005 14:36 (twenty years ago)

I shitteth thee not. Canary phones him at the end of this issue and he gets a splash page and everything (not pointing at anything IIRC). in the next issue blurb it talks about them working together.

Mark C (Markco), Thursday, 20 October 2005 15:04 (twenty years ago)

Cool. Green Arrow is always awesome outside of his own book. Unless it's a book written by Joe Kelly (in which case, GA still LOOKS awesome, because he's drawn by Mahnke, but acts the fool).

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 20 October 2005 15:07 (twenty years ago)

next month they will probably talk about their relationship a lot. zzzz.

Mark C (Markco), Thursday, 20 October 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

In the 70s, when they'd talk about their relationship, at least they'd use groovy lingo.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 20 October 2005 15:15 (twenty years ago)

I d/led Justice #2 and "read" it last night.
Oh boy is it lame!
