Just a quick heads-up to a new Joe Sacco strip, in Washington Monthly of all places. Here's the link.

Very good. I keep getting Dean emails and I don't even read them anymore (sad face).

I've been reading a lot of American Splendor recently adn Sacco's style reminds me of Pekar's. It's everyday subject matter but still pleasing to read.

i've recently (see the above strip) started seeing his drawing as a nicer, less sleazy, Joe Matt!

mmm...will have to start reading this every day, too. I just read Safe Area Goradze and it ruined my faith in humanity even more. I am curious to know what other people think of Sacco in general.

Vermont Girl, have you read any of the Pekar stories that Sacco did the artwork for? Other than Crumb, I think he's my favorite American Splendor collaborator.

Oh Jeeze, I didn't even realize Sacco did some of the artwork for American Splendor. I'm only about halfway through and I haven't run across his name yet...

I don't know that any of the stories that they did together have been anthologized; I just remember a bunch of their stories appearing in all the American Splendor mini-series that came out from Dark Horse.
