Wow - a mini-series about 2 characters no one cares about written by an unproven writer & unsung artist? Yeah, I'm buying it.

I'll probably give it a look. Did you see the espionage-themed backup in AMAZING FANTASY with art by the amazing Pete Woods? You might dig that as well.

I like Pete Woods!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 19:43 (twenty years ago)

I did not, Matt, but I might! Speaking of - Huk-L, go buy Catwoman and tell me how it is.

Oh, that Pete Woods.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

This stuff is miles better than his Catwoman work. Stronger linework for one.

JOHN BURNS??? AN UNSUNG ARTIST???

GAAAAHHHH!!

Go immediately to Barnacle Press and check out the Seekers. This guy's been drawing supercool spy-stuff for decades.

John Burns vs. John Byrne.

john burns is perhaps best known for drawing the tit and bum newspaper strip George and Lynn in the Sun, but he has drawn things like Espers for Eclipse too

Apparently Burns is also a bit of a dick in his secret life so it might be quite a match-up. David R OTM in terms of Burns not being a 'hot' artist in the US, but surely his iconic style and decades of storytelling experience will make this a sleeper hit? Or am I being a blind fule?
