Metamorpho is alive and emo in the pages of Outsiders. No groovy dancing in sight though his clone did some horizontal dancing with a murderous future robot. As one does.

-- Tom (freakytrigge...), October 21st, 2005. (Groke) (later) (link)

Does the Metamorphoclone at any time state that the future robot is 'merely the yvoorgiest'?

-- Vic Fluro (as...), October 21st, 2005. (Vic Fluro) (later) (link)

Metamorpho clone is the fifth or sixth worst character seeing regular appearances in comics today.

er, let me resize that.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:14 (twenty years ago)

Oh, now I've shrunk it too far.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:17 (twenty years ago)

Gambit is being used to good comedic effect by Peter Milligan!

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:20 (twenty years ago)

Meh. Wish the guy would swallow a playing card.

Also: SAGE

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:20 (twenty years ago)

I think my answer for this thread is "Every single character In DiDio/Johns' DC Universe."

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:21 (twenty years ago)

I think Aquaman's very close to the top.

iodine (iodine), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:40 (twenty years ago)

Flesh-hand Aquaman and harpoon Aquaman can be cooler, but water-hand Aquaman must die!

iodine (iodine), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

Where does Aquaman appear these days?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

In his own book?

Ah, not as lucky as you are.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 17:54 (twenty years ago)

OH NO YOU DIDN'T!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:02 (twenty years ago)

I know Dan DiDio is in charge of DC and all, but it just seems like the most logical/commercial way to do an Aquaman comic now would be to make it really funny and camp in a Sealab 2021 sort of way.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:18 (twenty years ago)

By Kyle Baker! Or Mike Allred even!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:22 (twenty years ago)

The JSA for being a bunch of endlessly moaning old farts. HURRY UP AND DIE, COFFIN DODGERS! Especially YOU Alan Scott, you grumpy old dork.

xpost: Camp is the way forward for Aquaman - I'd totally prefer it to the ponderous yawnfest the character's become. I nominate Reverse Aquaman to be both his archfoe and his butler.

Vic Fluro (Vic Fluro), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:22 (twenty years ago)

Vic OTM re: JSA.
When I dropped it this week, my comic shop guy was all like, "But I thought you loved that Golden Age stuff."
I was like, "Dig this. They're in the Thunderbolt Dimension, Jakeem Thunder is a bad guy, Dr. Fate is Hawkman's son, and I really don't care about any of it."

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:31 (twenty years ago)

JAKEEM THUNDER IS A BAD GUY?

SO NOT COOL!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:33 (twenty years ago)

Is Reverse Aquaman a robot pirate with Aquaman's missing hand grafted onto it? If not, that's what he should be.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:34 (twenty years ago)

He should also be afraid of water. OH THE PARADOX.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:36 (twenty years ago)

Totally unable to swim!

Man, I'd love to write an Aquaman comic.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:39 (twenty years ago)

But you know, 99.999% of all people appreciate Aquaman as a jokey thing, so why not just run with it?

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:39 (twenty years ago)

BAH! But then people might read it! And that would lead to other non-fanboyz reading superhero comics, and suddenly there would be some sort of pressure to actually tell good stories and not just pander to the fanboyz with Infinite Crisis stylee nods to comics that have been reprinted 20,000,000,000 times.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I know.

A smart company would have capitalized on that whole Entourage thing.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:46 (twenty years ago)

Never mind the Smallville thing.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

And VH1's Best Week Ever mentioning the Entourage thing and the Smallville thing.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

Jason Todd

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

But without Jason Todd, who would give Dan the Red Hood Roffles?

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:56 (twenty years ago)

Actually, mang, I'm really enjoying the Jason Todd stuff in Batman.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 18:57 (twenty years ago)

Jason Todd and the Red Hood Roffles

The Ghost of BEST BAND NAME EVER (Dan Perry), Friday, 28 October 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

Actually, I'm not even reading that. :>

I did get sick of writers bringing him up in a "but it was all a dream/illusion...or was it?!" way (Hush, Winnick's Scarecrow arc). Maybe I would be more interested if I had read the O.G. Jason Todd stories.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 28 October 2005 19:02 (twenty years ago)

Nah, not really. My current enjoyment of Jason-Todd-as-omniscient-pain-in-the-Batass has little to do w/ what he was prior to returning as OMG JASON TODD!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 19:04 (twenty years ago)

The O.G. Jason Todd stories (or, rather, the Post-Miller O.G. JT Stories) were actually pretty awful.
I can YSI JT's post-Crisis introduction. It is to laugh.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 28 October 2005 19:04 (twenty years ago)

Is that the one where he's wheeljacking the Batmobile?

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 19:06 (twenty years ago)

You betcha. Less hilariously/awfully recapped in the Batman issue befoer the most recent one.
