Only 14 more days until the day after Christmas! Go buy some crap! Like that THIRTY DOLLAR Omega the Unknown TPB! Or the highly anticipated John Cleese / John Byrne collaboration - NOW IN SOFTCOVER!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 12 December 2005 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

Just Fables for me, although I'm going to check for all three issues of Big in Japan.

WALKING DEAD OMNIBUS VOL 1 HC (MR) $100.00

WTF?

WALKING DEAD OMNIBUS VOL 1 HC SGN (MR) $150.00

WTF?!?!

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 12 December 2005 19:03 (nineteen years ago)

BEST OF THE SPIRIT TP - Even though I've probably already read this stuff in the Archives from the public library. So, actually, I probably won't.
GREEN ARROW #57 - The pulse-pounding conclusion (it is the conclusion, right?) to the storyline that wouldn't die! SPINNING OUT OF THE EVENTS OF TWO YEARS AGO WHEN IDENTITY CRISIS WASN'T ALREADY FORGOTTEN...
JLA #123 - I'm not really still reading this, am I?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 12 December 2005 19:07 (nineteen years ago)

Jordan: from what I heard (girthwise), the Walking Deadbus makes Absolute Watchmen look like a Golden Key book.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 12 December 2005 19:08 (nineteen years ago)

I would pay $100 for a new issue where the entire cast gets consumed by zombies. Preferably Marvel zombies.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 12 December 2005 19:17 (nineteen years ago)

OMG Jordan - YOU ARE THE WALKING LIVING!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 12 December 2005 19:18 (nineteen years ago)

Milligan X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor. I'll have to get it on the weekend, though.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 12 December 2005 19:47 (nineteen years ago)

the X-weekend THAT IS!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 12 December 2005 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

AUTHORITY THE MAGNIFICENT KEVIN #5 - I suspect the last ever Kev book, as the ideas are starting to get thin, but this is ENNIS AND FABRY. What more do you people want?
FABLES #44 - Oh noes! A genie on the loose in fabletown! Oh NOES!
FIRESTORM #20 - Hurry up and die in Ifinitely Crisistic so I can stop buying this book. Why? Why do I care so much about Firestorm? WHY?
GREEN ARROW #57 - FINISH THE PLOT OF DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM BEFORE I DIE.
BOOKS OF DOOM #2 - First book was promising, could be a real sleeper hit. Or could turn out to be crap.
GHOST RIDER #4 - Gorgeous artwork, usual Ennis male bonding bollocks elsewhere.
GLX-MAS SPECIAL - Have a Slotty Christmas!
MARVEL KNIGHTS 4 #25 - I've lost track what's happening with this book despite buying it. This cannot be a good sign.
MARVEL KNIGHTS SPIDER-MAN #21 - HURRY UP AND GIVE ME MY RAPE DOLLARS!
NEW X-MEN #21 - Am I buying this? I can't remember.
PUNISHER SILENT NIGHT - Or probably not, as this came out last year I think (5 mafia wives)?
SECRET WAR BOOK FIVE - THIS HAS LASTED LONGER THAN WWII.
ULTIMATE IRON MAN #5 - wtf? I thought this was an ongoing book? Oh well, it's been great while it lasted.
X-FACTOR #1 - Yay for PAD Madrox action!
X-MEN #179 - Or maybe it's this one I buy. I don't know.

Warning to UK readers - R1ch J0hns0n is reporting Diamond are shipping a day late.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 10:15 (nineteen years ago)

So this week we all stop mocking Sexy Chix and decide whether to buy Sexy Chix. I predict it'll sink like a stone. We can blame the cover.

Also entering Jordan's household will be DMZ #2, SON OF M #1, UNCANNY X-MEN #467, X-MEN #179, X-FACTOR #1, and LOCAL #2 (though I've unsuccessfully searched comic shops in two states for #1).

Madolan, Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:34 (nineteen years ago)

Why Maddie, whatever do you mean??

Obsessing over the unobtainable and nonexistent. (Leee), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:46 (nineteen years ago)

Maddie, if you're willing to brave the waters of interweb commerce, I'm pretty sure that Local #1 is available via online retailers, like the me-approved Midtown Comics.

It was a good issue, BTW, albeit beholden just a smidge (cough) to Run Lola Run. But, hey, bite the best, I say.

The lack of Sexy Chix success will probably be due to the dingdonging title. Tho getting Greg Horn on the cover would've put copies in the hands of some fannies, for sure.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:51 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, Sexy Chix is an actual title! I shall now creep away.

Obsessing over the unobtainable and nonexistent. (Leee), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:52 (nineteen years ago)

Greg Horn's variant cover of Sexy Chix, with Carla Speed McNeil and Roberta Gregory in bikini battle armor, will probably sell better than the pink original.

And thanks, David; I think ordering Local online is my best bet.

Madolan, Tuesday, 13 December 2005 20:51 (nineteen years ago)

I picked up a preview copy of GLX-mas and it's charming, sweet, funny stuff. Recommended!

Although it's looking increasingly unlikely that I'll find the GLA #3 and #4 I crave anywhere on the planet.

Vic Fluro (Vic Fluro), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

Collection's out this week, isn't it?

kit brash (kit brash), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 00:39 (nineteen years ago)

That's good to know...

Vic Fluro (Vic Fluro), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 00:52 (nineteen years ago)

Green Arrow #57: The cover says, "THE SHOCKING CONCLUSION", but nothing concludes. Fuckers. GUEST-STARRING BLACK LIGHTNING!!!
Teen Titans # 30: The kiss 25 years in the making! Also, DC Zombies. And the connection between Infinite Crisis and Death of Superman is spelled out in very plain language. GUEST-STARRING CAPTAIN CARROT!!!
JLA #123: Shut up, the gratuitous Black Canara crotch-shots are worth it. GUEST-STARRING PLOP!!!
The Best of the Spirit: Why do I even bother reading contemporary jive turkey comics?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 December 2005 14:40 (nineteen years ago)

Huk, speaking of DC zombies, have you read any of Batman: Gotham County Line? Is it good?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:19 (nineteen years ago)

Nope! (haven't read it)

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:29 (nineteen years ago)

out of curiosity, what is the connection between infinite crisis and death of superman?

dave k, Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:29 (nineteen years ago)

The kiss 25 years in the making

ROBIN & CYBORG OMG

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:35 (nineteen years ago)

MAJOR INFINITE DEATH OF SPOILERS:

According to Raven, when Superman returned from the dead, he forgot to close the door, which is why Oliver (Green Arrow) Queen, Hal (Green Lantern) Jordan, and Jason (Robin/Red Hood) Todd were able to come back.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:37 (nineteen years ago)

OH COME ON

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:43 (nineteen years ago)

In the DCU, the gateway to the afterlife = toilet seat

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:44 (nineteen years ago)

JIGGLE THE HANDLE BABY

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:45 (nineteen years ago)

Geoff Johns = Plunger

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 15 December 2005 16:10 (nineteen years ago)

"Open the door, and let 'em in..."

I thought the return of Superman was explained by his Kryptonian biology and/or technology?

scamperingalpaca (Chris Hill), Thursday, 15 December 2005 16:32 (nineteen years ago)

I can't wait for the novelization!

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 15 December 2005 16:34 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, as I remember it, he was just in deep hibernation or something, but whatevs.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 December 2005 16:37 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, so remember the next death you see in DC comics is actually for real!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 15 December 2005 18:18 (nineteen years ago)

Well, the door is still open (to my heart), so Blue Beetle, Ratcatcher, that guy from Gotham Central and those people from War Games or War Crimes and Sue Dibny are all up for the resurrection bingo!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 15 December 2005 18:21 (nineteen years ago)

how is the new x-factor?
i liked the peter david x-factors twelve years ago or whenever it was. just now getting back into comics... don't know what to buy...

serious sheet, Friday, 16 December 2005 17:51 (nineteen years ago)

Did nobody buy last week's VERY SPECIAL EPISODE of Nightwang?
here's what dc sez about it in this week's Crisis Consoling:
Deathstroke outfitted his daughter Ravager with a kryptonite eye, but after a botched attempt to attack Superman, Nightwing and the Man of Steel showed Slade's daughter the error of her evil ways!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 19 December 2005 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

What the hell? Kryptonite gave Luthor cancer! Or was that retconned, too?

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 19 December 2005 18:03 (nineteen years ago)

You'd think that would have a major sticking point during Luthor's campaign for Prez.
"Mr. Luthor, is it true or untrue that you once had your brain transferred from your old, flabby, Kryptonite-poisoned body into a younger, slimmer clone?"
