I love the name RONAN THE ACCUSER! Does he do any golf raving?

No ILX meta, please! Only comic meta!

BTW, here's Ronan w/ his pitching wedge:

Hmm, with this and the new Death's Head, is Mr. Furman being welcomed back to Mighty Marvel? An update of BRUTE FORCE! is clearly on the way...

Sorry, the only one I know anything about is the silver surfer, who seems kind of emo.

This strikes me as k-rub. And it feels really '90s' somehow. Not in a good 90s way, more in a silver-foil-guardians-of-the-galaxy-cover way.

Also god help us now that this prologue - multiple minis - epilogue thing has become an actual 'publishing strategy'. Did none of these people READ the Rann/Thanagar War?

Feelings. So. Mixed.

I'm looking forward to this, thanks to the happy vibes Giffen's Drax mini gave me. (Bless you, disposable income.) (And I do mean disposable.)

The minis, I'm looking forward to, especially ... uh, all of them, actually. Okay, I don't think I know the LOSH people, but if I'm buying the other ones I may as well get them all.

The crossover thing, that's the sour in the sweet. Especially with a name like Annihilation on top of Decimation and Civil War! Sadface -> Sadspace!

But I love the characters when they're handled well, and this doesn't sound like the slapdash stuff Marvel does sometimes when they suddenly realize they haven't gone to space lately. I'd like to see Starfox, but maybe he'll be in Gaiman's Eternals.

He's gonna be in She-Hulk!!!!!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 10 February 2006 03:02 (twenty years ago)

! Wait, did I know that? I thought you said you thought the Avenger was going to be him before it turned out to be TGK. Slott should definitely write Starfox. Adam Warlock, too -- okay, Warlock himself doesn't sound like someone Slott should write, but supporting cast: PIP THE TROLL.

Rawhide Kid AND Starfox! Starfox in a few months, tho.

She-Hulk is exactly the kind of book I meant by "back alley Marvel" in The Thread, but this cosmic stuff is (when done well) another good example of cool wackiness. Even when Marvel is all serious-faced, you can't remove the sheer surrealism of some of this stuff -- that's even more true of Dr Strange's mythos, if not the character himself (a wardrobe change or eyepatch away from Constantine at any time).

But I mean, Celestials! Ego the Living Planet! The Skrulls, period. This stuff (outside of Earth X) is just pure fun.
