And, I, too, disagree w/ those @ N3swaroonie that say the sword sucks. I believe the sword doesn't suck. Even if Wolverine w/ sword will invariably lead to NINJAS.

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 5 January 2006 00:13 (twenty years ago)

When reading the previous post, please pronounce the "w" in "sword".

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 5 January 2006 00:13 (twenty years ago)

I always preferred that suit to any of the others wolverine ever wore.

>> Even if Wolverine w/ sword will invariably lead to NINJAS.

wolverine would invariably lead to ninjas even if he was carrying a kitten or a helium balloon or a doll.

Mark C (Markco), Thursday, 5 January 2006 12:09 (twenty years ago)

I'd pay good money to see that. As it stands, I won't spend a nickel on this...

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Thursday, 5 January 2006 14:42 (twenty years ago)

I probably will. :(

It CAN'T be worse that Wolverine: Teh End. Nothing can.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 5 January 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

TEH WORST KIND OF FANBOY PEDANTIC BULLSHIT WARNING!

In real life, samurai wore their katanas with the curved side facing up. What a poser.

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Thursday, 5 January 2006 17:57 (twenty years ago)

Dillon-face Wolverine is kind of surreal.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 5 January 2006 18:07 (twenty years ago)

But wait! It gets better! Michael Turner's Absizer is on the covers! Look!

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 5 January 2006 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Shit, I've just read his Superman/Batman and i'm having nightmares with overdesign and anatomic "liberties" (apart from captions showing batman and superman secretly in love with each other)

iodine (iodine), Thursday, 5 January 2006 22:48 (twenty years ago)

I can't be as bad as Wolvering Heights.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Friday, 6 January 2006 14:30 (twenty years ago)

six months pass...
I am still buying this despite the fact that Dillon's art sucks. 3 had a very good story and got a good review from the guy at www.downtowncomics.com I really wish they would change artists. It's unfair of them to have great covers and terrible inner art.

Christopher Goodnight (saintsaucey), Sunday, 9 July 2006 07:32 (nineteen years ago)

Has Dillon learnt to draw backgrounds yet? he's one of those strange artists whose work has got steadily worse.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Sunday, 9 July 2006 14:43 (nineteen years ago)

'unfair'

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Sunday, 9 July 2006 18:33 (nineteen years ago)

Christopher Goodnight (saintsaucey), Sunday, 9 July 2006 21:55 (nineteen years ago)

..and got a good review from the guy at www.downtowncomics.com

Don't you mean YOU gave it a good review at that site? Gotta love the completely unsubtle self-promotion.

Seriously: what is it lately with the "self-promotion disguised as promotion for someone else that I don't know at all I SWEAR" thing? I mean...we're not retarded. Someone's going to figure it out and you're just going to look like an ass in the end. Drop the false modesty already. Jeez!

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 10 July 2006 20:37 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry how bout this. I reviewed this damn comic on the downtown comic site, why don't you all check it out.

Christopher Goodnight (saintsaucey), Monday, 10 July 2006 20:45 (nineteen years ago)

Artist: Steve Dillon
Writer: Daniel Way
Colorist: Dan Kemp

Summary: We open on a stand off between Logan/James Howlett/Wolverine/Weapon X, and Frank Simpson a.k.a Nuke. Wolverine gives him the chance to surrender but no, Nuke don't know nothin bout dyin, all he knows is killin. we immediately flash back to Frank as a young boy, with a sad look on his face and his arm and shirt covered in red. Kool-Aid though not blood. Still his momma isn't happy and she is very vocal about it. Apparently Frank has had some problems at school, and he did something to a doctor, but the parents don't have time to deal with it. They are off leaving young (Charlie?) in the capable and creepy hands of Betsy the homicidal baby sitter. She assures Young Nuke that life would be better for everyone if his mother was gone forever. Leaving him to the conclusion that he should take matters into his own hands. Back in the present Logan stalls till Nuke runs out of bullets and then tries once more to talk to the man. When that doesn't work, the two go at it once more and Logan cuts off his robotic legs. Nuke makes a last ditch effort to launch a rocket and Logan stops him. The rocket blows up in his robotic face and takes skin off his robotic hand. Nuke Blames Betsy for it and back in 1953 Betsy coyly seduces Nuke's father as he is taking her home, but then backs off and is upset when Mr. police man comes knocking. The police man blows Betsy's brains against the passenger window and then convinces Nukes father that he is going to take the blame. He gives him back the gun and tells him to make the last bullet count. After making sure the loose ends are tied up, Logan proceeds to the pick up point. At the Simpson house he finds Young Nuke waiting for him with his mother lying at the bottom of the stairs in a broken heap. At the U.S. embassy in Chili, a man in black orders a scientist to power down Nuke assuring the man that Wolverine won't kill Nuke and that this is all Part of the plan. At the White house the president calls Trevor into the oval office and asks what the hell is going on. Trevor assures him that putting him in the field is all part of the plan, and that Wolverine will never see it coming. As Logan prepares to deliver the fatal blow, he is surprised and deflected, even though he has had it coming for a long time. At least according to Captain America.

Review Much better story, lots of surprises and a kick ass ending. Can we forget the first two issues exist and pretend this is issue #1? Way took a cue from shows like lost and prison break again but this time for the betterment of the series. Showing us Frank/Nuke/Charlie?'s twisted child hood and Wolverine's involvement in it is a great plot twist. The art still sucks. Sorry but i just don't like Dillon's work. How about the get the guy who does the cover's to do the interior as well. Nice improvement Way.

Art (pencil and color): 3. still crap but the story was great.

Story Great use of the flash back plot device Wolverine is as old as Angel on Buffy if not older, and we all know how great the Angel flash backs were. 8.5

Monies worth: I'm going to say its worth the cover price and will keep me coming back for the fourth

Christopher Goodnight (saintsaucey), Monday, 10 July 2006 22:33 (nineteen years ago)

Well. That sounds just as useless as I would've expected Wolfering: Oranges to be. I'm intrigued by the U.S. embassy in chili, though.

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 10 July 2006 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

Monies worth

Cor-Ray (chaki), Monday, 10 July 2006 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

Both spellings are exceptable I looked it up smart ass

Christopher Goodnight (saintsaucey), Monday, 10 July 2006 22:59 (nineteen years ago)

"money's" = possessive. As in "the worth of your money". "monies" = the plural of "money". Given the context in which you used it, "monies" is incorrect.

Also: "exceptable" could possibly be a word, but, again, not as you're using it. And periods are used to separate sentences.

I honestly wish you didn't keep making yourself such an easy target, dude.

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Monday, 10 July 2006 23:28 (nineteen years ago)

it's the fucking interweb d00d who the frig cares about spelling. and every other review uses that spelling. acceptable. I honestly wish everyone on this site wasn't such assholes but apparently you are al far superior than I

Christopher Goodnight (saintsaucey), Monday, 10 July 2006 23:51 (nineteen years ago)

Christopher believes that assholes are inherently superior to himself

kit (kit brash), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 00:16 (nineteen years ago)

Christopher Goodnight (saintsaucey), Tuesday, 11 July 2006 00:17 (nineteen years ago)

Dued, your tollaly rigt. Tollaly. Ill try not be such assholes.
