thor blood oath: classic or dud?

I read the first two issues, remember liking them, then promptly forgot about this title. is it worth reading the last four now that they're out, or should i just wait for the (presumed) trade?

The way the comic worked kinda reminded me of the early nineties Conan cartoon series--a musclebound main character, a supporting cast of his asskickin' friends, and EPIC QUESTS. i am gonna re-read the first two tonight, assuming i can find them.

It was a good romp, loads better than Oeming's Ragnarok story, which I know got ILC props but I thought was largely drivel. This one was true to the spirit of mythological questing yarns but was truer to the spirit of Stan, Jack n Walt, too.

i have not, historically speaking, been a big Thor fan. though i think LOKI might be one of my favorite marvel U villains.

I've never been a big Thor guy, either (except for Simonson's awesomeness) (&, okay, some of the DeFalco / Frenz stuff that followed before they started traipsing through every stupid pantheon and Frenz went Kirby krazy), but Blood Oath is great like Tom sez, and it is LOADS better than Ragnarok (which, for me, was pretty meh until the very end).

What I want from my Thor:

- FITES w/ a drunk Hercules
- horse-faced dopplegangers
- eye-gouging & lynching

& maybe some Absorbing Man thrown in every so often.
