Worst Moments in Comics History!

For me it has to be that year when all the X-Books changed their titles and we had that all encompassing altered reality thing going on. It was just at the end of the "super-dooper special limited editions buy 15 issues for future profit craze", and really made me give up on comics for a good year after that, even though I bought every damn issue. So, what's the worst for you?

The point you mention was a convenient spot for me to bail on collecting, so it's actually a good moment.

Worst = the death of Gwen Stacy. Random death, much shock value, and even more weight on Spider-Man's shoulders. I didn't catch that it was the web's drag that snapped her neck at the time. Would seem revisionist, except there's the "SNAP" in the original panel. It makes it unforgettable, like Romeo & Juliet, but still, wish it hadn't happened.

Plus it's like "No! No! Of all the times for my webs to start obeying scientific laws, why did it have to be NOW!!!"

Crisis On infinite Earth.
It was the best of things (big slugfest that meant something).
It was the worst of things (continuity suddenly matters!)

The end of Catwoman, before it was hauled off and revamped. Selina's mayor of New York! Selina's in jail! Harley Quinn is brainwashing her! Although I'm sure lots of people enjoyed the prison riot in the shower, with the strategically placed steam.

I have two words, NEW UNIVERSE!

Oi! DP7 was good! You wouldn't get away with calling a comic that in these viler times, either.

Kickers Inc. had to be the worse idea for a comic ever.

I was working at a shop the couple of years that happened. The New Universe was an absolute flop.
