The old guy in the electric shop gave me a discount on blank DVDs once.

Damn! I have never managed to formulate anykind of kinship with the comic shop people :(

I get 10% at FP for being a life member of the Prince Charles Cinema. Best £15 I ever spent!
(I quid of every film for life at the PCC, 10% at Belgo, 20% at Soho Spice - its the card tha keeps on giving. No wonder they don't sell life membership anymore).

I used to get occasional FREE ADVANCE comics when I was still reliably turning in reviews for my local comic shop's website. That is to say, I got the last issue of FKAJL about a week early and then forgot to write a review of it and will never get advance comics again.

I had a comic book store friend with benefits once. Um, discount-type benefits. Then her image got used for the cover of a Famous Rock Band's album and she quit the store. Last I heard, she was working at an ultra-high-end fetish club in New Jersey--she told me that she got picked up for work at her NYC apartment every day in a limousine.
