This is the thread where we post pics of shitty costumes and hairdos that otherwise kick-ass heroes and heroines have sported.

Dude, even with the ponytail, that was an improvement over his Robin togs.

(I am not arguing, though.)

I actually kinda liked his first Nightwing outfit with the big, bad ass collar. But yeah, pixie shoes ain't no clothes for a grown man.

When the hell did Wonder Man get a helmet?

And the Vision's gear is mad fab. Though that whiteout version put forth by John Byrne was dull, dull, dull.

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Monday, 17 May 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Scarlet Witch to thread!

Wonder Man had the helmet back when he was a pawn in Baron Zemo's plans to thwart those dastardly Avengers - the black suit came as a result of his West Coast Avengers adventures (after the red jumpsuit, and after some godawful Al Milgrom designed green/red monstrosity) (with jetpack!).

Why is Wonder Man shitting little blonde women in that picture?

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 May 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Because he's made of ionic energy, obv.

That isn't the best pic to show off the terribility of the Vision's outfit, because it worked all right when coloring was simpler, I think: it's in the millions-of-colors Alex Ross age that it starts to look Herb Tarlicky.

But the whiteout version was worse, that's for sure.

Speaking of West Coast Avengers:

The comic book world is in desperate need of a Harvey Birdman-type reclamation vehicle.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 17 May 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, geez, Alex Ross coloring on any of those old costumes looks awful.

Werewolf by Night needs his own damn title. If Madrox the Multiple Man is getting one, then why not WWBN? Turn it into a comedy and set it at a crumbling dinosaur rock radio station or something...

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Monday, 17 May 2004 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

For the record, that's Man-Wolf (JJJ's son!), not Werewolf by Night.

The Goon's Eric Powell and / or Gail Simone revamping / mucking with all the Marvel monster morts would be a stroke of genius.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 17 May 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I bow to your Marvel trivia-fu.

Eric Powell doing Marvel monsters is GENIUS.
