Finger fans rejoice!

Everything I said about Annihilation -- "oh man it'll rock if it doesn't suck" -- repeat that, with much less worry of it sucking. I really miss Marvel's cosmic and magical stuff, and I think both the current climate of comics -- in which I'm less worried it'll be taken overseriously, trenchcoats and eyepatches and Dark Strange -- and the involvement of BKV make a lot of the obvious missteps less likely here.

Now, get Grant Morrison to do Marvel's Books of Magic (in the "four issue prestige series overviewing all the magical stuff" sense), and ... hm, actually, I don't know about that. But it'd be fun to see what he came up with.

I hope he takes a cue from Milligan's Dr. Strange (in Dead Girl).

Tep, you read that JMS / Brando Strange mini, right? How was it, asks the guy that didn't stick around past the first issue?

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 6 March 2006 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

It was good, but I'm not sure it fully satisfied the craving for a Dr Strange story, the way that if you turned off Spider-Man after the hour-long origin, it wouldn't really satisfy a Spidey craving. It's kind of like Batman Begins but stopping when he comes back to Gotham.

I don't know why I just compared it to TWO origin movies. I must have thought of both at the same time. I need more coffee.

So this Vaughan fella's good, right?

This is good timing, as that Wooden Wand guy has got to be running out of song-titles by now. A new Strange mini should be enough for a couple double-albums and a cd-r or three.

Yeah, he's OK.

Oooh! Vaughan! I am there!

If Dead Girl is in this regularly (and she's right up BKV's alley, as it were, as female protagonists go), I will be buying this.
