Why does superheroes never want to rock?

Assemble your superhero band, inspired by ILM:

I thought this thread was going to be about ACTUAL actual superheroes. You know, like:
The Flash - drums (for obvious reasons)
Madrox the Multiple Man - vocals (because he can harmonize with himself)
The Juggernaut - bass (he looks like a bass player)
Reed Richards - keys (he could have thirty keyboards like Rick Wakeman and actually reach them all)

I have a very recent comic where Flash says he likes Rush, because "they're math rock."
He's talking to John Stewart in the JLA Watchtower and Stewart sort of brushes him off, BUT in one of the old Steve Englehart GLC issues, Hal Jordan is shocked and appalled to learn that Stewart like Streisand.

Back in his days as a junky named Speedy, the hero currently known as Arsenal was in a band called the Exploding Frogs or something.

Dazzler was a pop star! I remember one issue making clear that she included a disco Bob Dylan medley in her set, so I'm sure she was terrific.

There was that thing 'Scare Tactics'... they were a band but they were secretly monsters. Or openly monsters. It came right in the middle of the nineties "Oh my god MUSIC EXISTS!!" explosion in comics, where every 'hip' young turk was running around with a terrible band who were gnarly big kahunas. "Yeah! We're the Riot Grrrls and we're the ginchiest etc..." Babe and the Children of the Night crank it up to eleven in a charity gig to help the orphans...

So I gave it a miss. Was it even slightly good?

Great Frog.

Let's not forget John Constantine's old band, Mucus Membrane

I seem to remember Robin once lending his costume to a rock star because it was the ever-lovin' gearest. His name may even have been Richie Rockingham or something equally mad.

Dazzler and Lila Cheney, leather and spandex, nothing but t.A.T.u. covers.

Capt. America should spearhead a big band revival. I've no doubt he could swing.

Amazing Screw-On Head - drums
Hellboy - lead guitar
Batgirl (version Cassandra Cain) - vox

I remember Rick Jones' stint as a folksinger in Captain Marvel in the mid-70s. These were Englehart issues that I had, but I came in in the middle so I don't know if the folksinger thing was Englehart's idea. After some cosmic farting around with Marv, he barely made it to some gig, still in his shiny metal spacesuit. The crowd booed him and he flipped out, smashed his guitar and stomped off. This was somewhere around #40, I think.

Nah, Cap has gotta be as square as they come.

I love the idea of Little Boy Blue in Fables as a jazz trumpet player who's had a hundred years to practice. He must be fucking smoking, but he probably has to restrain his ridiculous chops lest his name get around too much.

Cap likes Gershwin. QED.
