David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:21 (twenty years ago)

Hmm. Nothing I really want. I mean, I intend to get that Astonishing X-Men hardcover, but I'll wait til when I have a $20 off bonus at Midtown in a few weeks.

I've got this huge stack of unread trades I need to get through, I think I'll just work through that before adding more singles to the pile.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:30 (twenty years ago)

Is that Teen Titans one going to be good?? I am in the mood for another dose of silverage madness!

dave k, Monday, 10 April 2006 16:39 (twenty years ago)

silverage madness should be right.
Mad Mod, groovy teen issues, Bob Haney goofiness

Wonder Chick!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

CRISIS AFTERMATH THE BATTLE FOR BLUDHAVEN #1 (OF 6)--although my hopes are not high
SUPERMAN #651--loving this storyline

And that's it. Weak week wack.

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:01 (twenty years ago)

I read an uncoloured B for B about a week or two ago. 'Salright. I'm not buying it (saving my Crisis Aftermath Cherry for Spectre).

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:03 (twenty years ago)

What Huk said.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:14 (twenty years ago)

one thing B for B has going for it (so far): Distinct lack of name-brand characters.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:22 (twenty years ago)

Hellboy Volume 6: Strange Places TPB
This volume collects The Third Wish and The Island with over a dozen unused pages, and a new epilogue.

If there's one thing that bugs me about Hellboy, I usually have to buy both the floppies and the trades (now that I actually buy the floppies).

c(''c) (Leee), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:37 (twenty years ago)

Douglas, ya aren't reading Action Philosophers?? It's so wonderful!

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Monday, 10 April 2006 18:41 (twenty years ago)

Is Action Philosophers Hate The French a good jumping on point?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 10 April 2006 18:46 (twenty years ago)

there is no continuity.

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Monday, 10 April 2006 18:48 (twenty years ago)

it is non-fiction.
but amazingly funny.

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Monday, 10 April 2006 18:48 (twenty years ago)

Okay! If my comic shop has one on the shelf, I will buy it.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 10 April 2006 18:50 (twenty years ago)

the guys who make it live in my neighborhood!

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Monday, 10 April 2006 19:09 (twenty years ago)

guys gotta live somewhere!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 10 April 2006 19:10 (twenty years ago)

yeah, THREE BLOCKS AWAY!!!!

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Monday, 10 April 2006 19:49 (twenty years ago)

DESOLATION JONES #6
FABLES #48
SUPERMAN #651 - Hopefully I added it to my pull list in time.

FANTASTIC FOUR FIRST FAMILY #2 (OF 6) - Just bought the first issue today, but I liked Children of the Atom so I expect I'll like this.
ULTIMATE EXTINCTION #4 (OF 5) - After Ultimate Secret, it feels like this one's coming out twice a month.

WARREN ELLIS BLACK GAS #2

Ellis overload! Pretty slim week, but there's usually a 50% off sale Easter weekend at one store near me, so I might try out some recommended stuff I haven't been reading (Son of M, Batman Year 100, Monster Men, Supermarket) for reasons of monetary restriction.

Oblivious Lad. (Oblivious Lad), Monday, 10 April 2006 20:57 (twenty years ago)

The Comics Journal.

I'd be all over the Teen Titans Showcase if it was in colour, but I fear it will lose wackiness in monochrome.

kit brash (kit brash), Monday, 10 April 2006 23:21 (twenty years ago)

ACTION PHILOSOPHERS HATE THE FRENCH

Whoops, I think I forgot to get this issue onto my pull list! My comic shop doesn't seem to want to consider this an ongoing title, and I'm willing to bet they didn't order any store copies. Guess I'll ask about that in a couple of weeks when I go in to pick up the last issue of Frankenstein.

Chris Freiberg (Chris F.), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 02:21 (twenty years ago)

Just Superman for me. Enjoy it while you can before the Rick 'n' Geoff Show destroys it again.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 08:14 (twenty years ago)

ALBION #4 - Patchy release dates making this a chore. It's good for BritComic fans though.
DESOLATION JONES #6 - This is the last one? OH NOES HITLER PR0N OH NOES
FABLES #48 - DIGBY VS MOWGLI FITE!
GREEN ARROW #61 - "It's the rematch you've been waiting for since Identity Crisis!" Not that much of a wait, then.
SHOWCASE PRESENTS TEEN TITANS VOL 1 - I have to read Superman Family before I let myself start this (although Diamond have ahabit of shipping Showcase Presents a week late to my shop anyway).
FANTASTIC FOUR FIRST FAMILY #2 - Chris Weston is great and we should all give him money
MARVEL ROMANCE REDUX RESTRAINING ORDERS ARE FOR OTHER GIRLS - I actually prefer the originals, but this issue has Kyle Baker and Keith Giffen so for once might edge it.
ULTIMATE EXTINCTION #4 - Didn't the previous one just come out?
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #93 - Kitty and Peter in HOTT SEXXING ACTION

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 08:34 (twenty years ago)

secondhandnews (secondhandnews), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 14:08 (twenty years ago)

just fables i guess.

would like to buy action philosophers, but i don't think the shop below my work will get it and i'm too lazy to go to another store.

sheep sheet (serious sheet), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 15:57 (twenty years ago)

Green Arrow #61: WTF. Second issue in a row where the cover completely spoils the last page. The politics aspect of the book is already tedious. D as in Drop

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 12 April 2006 21:12 (twenty years ago)

Batman: Year 100 #3: Hell yeah. I love the way Batman talks to Robin. It's soooooo Adam West (though he never says "chum"). So far, I think this is the first comic to really allow for the existence of ALL BATMANS w/o mulitverse/parallel whatevers hokum. A as in Awesome.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 13 April 2006 15:39 (twenty years ago)

How does it do that?

kenchen, Thursday, 13 April 2006 16:37 (twenty years ago)

porcelain fangs

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 13 April 2006 17:23 (twenty years ago)

I look forward to reading that in trade.

Batman & the Monster Men - Good as usual! Definitely seems like a setup for Mad Monk.'

Fables - I really like both plots in this little arc, and I'm not even a dog person.

Batmaxx: Secrets - Is anyone else reading this? I'm into it, even the meta-commentary.

Daredevil - The Murdock Papers - I didn't even know this trade had come out, but I really, really enjoyed it. BMB killed it all the way through. Now I can start on the Brubaker stuff!

Marvel Zombies was really fun, Y was pretty okay, Walking Dead was very silly but at least the pace has picked up. And I still have Maddie's copy of Action Philosophers to read!

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 17:24 (twenty years ago)

What is a good Fables jumping on point? my fifteen & thirteen year old cousins love it. maybe i should borrow from them?

the unbearable lightness of peeing (orion), Thursday, 13 April 2006 17:36 (twenty years ago)

Or you can trade for my copy of volume 1!

c(''c) (Leee), Thursday, 13 April 2006 17:42 (twenty years ago)

do I ahve anything you want? i don't have very many trades. and they're all pretty normal stuff.

the unbearable lightness of peeing (orion), Thursday, 13 April 2006 17:53 (twenty years ago)

I thought Fables sounded lame, but it's great. However, I would not recommend c("c)'s volume 1 trade. For me, Fables gets good with trade #2 and pretty much doesn't let up. I haven't read the Arabian Nights stuff yet though.
