Didn't we do this thread already? I can't find the old one.

The 20 Nude Dancers 20 poster books are hiding on the right between the bookcase and The Smithsonian Collection of Newspaper Comics. Short box on the floor contains the Morrison DP, a bunch of other Morrison stuff, '70s Steve Gerber comics, and recent buys. Short box on the shelf has a few scattered silver age superhero comics, Drake-Premiani DP, the end issues of Zot!, the first volume of The Invisibles, and a few other scattered things. The purges were brutal, but the end result is OK, I think.

I've added two long boxes and one short box since then.

I have way more trades nestled in unpredictable parts of the house. I am disorganised.

7 28" long bookshelves of trades. 19 or shortboxes.

I've been at this awhile. And I get to write 'em off my taxes...

I've added two long boxes and one short box since then.

We should take a picture of the ol' trade bookshelf.

WEAK DUDES

I didn't expect to be able to compete with these.

Nearly all of those two shelves are comics, less than ten of them aren't.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 13 April 2006 22:59 (twenty years ago)

My nearly complete lack of single "issue" type comics, though, says it all.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:01 (twenty years ago)

My collection has not changed a whole lot since last time.

c(''c) (Leee), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:30 (twenty years ago)

Hey Chris, you don't mind if I change the thread title to, "It's April 2006, what does yer collection look like," do you?

c(''c) (Leee), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:40 (twenty years ago)

No, I don't-- good idea, Leee.

I love those pictures of the floppies, joe. And I think that the Bisley cover shown in Madolan's pic is calling me to reread Morrison DP again...

Chris Freiberg (Chris F.), Friday, 14 April 2006 01:56 (twenty years ago)

FINALLY I have a reason to buy a digital camera!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:01 (twenty years ago)

I don't know why I can't get good photos with sane colour balance from my camera, even in bright natural lights, but here we go anyway:

(living room, three shelves of one bookcase for comic things smaller than comic book format)

(the upper parts of three bookcases in my comic-book library - you can probably spot the row of Lone Wolf & Cub and some EC box sets on the top there)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 14 April 2006 12:32 (twenty years ago)

Casuistry, d'you play "Settlers Of Catan" much?

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Friday, 14 April 2006 12:54 (twenty years ago)

Isn't anyone going to post pics of their comics dressed in underwear or lingerie? ;-)

I can't post a pic of The Collection per se. My stuff is everywhere, nearly 20 volumes of Essentials in a stack on the floor, various stuff buckling the top of my too-small bookcase (which, uh, is mostly filled with more traditional printed matter), stacked under the computer desk, etc... what a danged mess!

There is this photo, with me posing less than convincingly with a magazine (about KIRBY to boot!) -- a few items in the background might be identifiable. C'mon, how many can you name?

_chrissie (chrissie1068), Friday, 14 April 2006 13:05 (twenty years ago)

How would you even get your comic dressed in lingerie? (Please supply diagrams.)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 14 April 2006 14:22 (twenty years ago)

I want to go round to Martin's house.

chap who would dare to be a stone cold thug (chap), Friday, 14 April 2006 15:36 (twenty years ago)

I'm appalled at how clean and neat your rooms are.

c(''c) (Leee), Friday, 14 April 2006 16:17 (twenty years ago)

ha, you aren't seeing much of mine - the comic library (and the book one) are fairly tidy, but my living room very much isn't.

I have a friend who has a very big room for comics only - must be 20 bookcases stuffed with them, then another three bookcases in another room for graphic novel-sixed volumes. Then there's the book room, the records room... he has a big house. (Tom, if I say that you'd been to his old place, you'll know who I mean.)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 14 April 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

I'm sure you could slip a garter belt over one of those tight-fitting, see-through PVC coverings they make for the die-hard enthusiasts...

I have a cupboard of boxes, too, but they don't photo that well. Also here are my three most valuable comics.

About collections I've seen, I can now reveal the Big Scandal about Mr. Paul Gravett: he has a complete run of Lee-Kirby Fantastic Fours (yes, inc. #1) housed in a comic box and... THEY'RE NOT IN BAGS!!!!

;-)

_chrissie (chrissie1068), Friday, 14 April 2006 21:54 (twenty years ago)

I do not play much Settlers, these days. We brought it out at some point recently because we were all kinda braindead. I haven't decided whether that shelf is going to hold "commonly played games" or what.
