Er, shouldn't the title be "25 Most Important Events in American Comics in the Past 25 Years"?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 17:39 (nineteen years ago)

It's a little confused as to whether to focus on what's been influental creatively or business-wise, but other than that, pretty good job.

Also, I can't see why "special covers" would be the 14th most important thing, but maybe it's just different over there.

You're a dick.

JW (ex machina), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

Oh yes, it is.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 18:05 (nineteen years ago)

what are the 25 most important events in finnish comics in the past 25 yrs?

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 18:12 (nineteen years ago)

The invention of written language.

Also, a minor point:
Impressions - Choice of Colors
The Impressions - People Get Ready

The first one should also read The Impressions (it's the same group).

But I guess that was my mistake, since I nominated "Choice of Colors".

The composer of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg soundtrack is Michel Legrand, not Michael.

Did Jim Jarmusch write that?

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

"McHut's"

I hung out with some Danish people this weekend and one of them was talking about how when he was growing up (and I'll point out now that he was 20) he was really into some sort of underground Finnish comics. I didn't manage to get any further details out of him, though, since I was a bit tired at that point.

Revealed! What Tuomas would rather read than SUPERBOY PUNCHES THE UNIVERSE.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 4 May 2006 05:59 (nineteen years ago)

Anyone sane would read anything than SPTU.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 4 May 2006 07:22 (nineteen years ago)

wait, superboy punches the universe is a real comic? because it sounds pretty awesome.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 4 May 2006 07:54 (nineteen years ago)

I have nothing against Superboy Punches the Universe! It sounds cool.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 4 May 2006 10:06 (nineteen years ago)

The trouble with Superboy Punches The Universe is that it WASN'T it's own comic. DC should have saved their weekly format for that. Every week, SPTU and a NEW WORLD IS BORN, w/ art by Bart Sears!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 4 May 2006 13:43 (nineteen years ago)

Now if John Ostrander was writing that, I'd buy it without question.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 4 May 2006 13:47 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
In a way it upsets me that I even know about SPTU, but in another way I am glad of the knowledge.

Knowledge is power.
