Actually this might be quite good in a read-it-free sense, but I think Stan has too much invested in Stan to produce anything very interesting.

i will read the dr. strange and thing ones, at least.

electro-acoustic lycanthrope (orion), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 22:55 (nineteen years ago)

"Interesting" is not what I'm looking for with these...

Here's an entertaining conversation between Bendis and Stan about them & other stuff: http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/wizard/000167284.cfm

Douglas (Douglas), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 23:38 (nineteen years ago)

Is Stan actually writing-qua-writing these?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 1 June 2006 01:06 (nineteen years ago)

It was only a year ago, i think, that he settled his lawsuit against them. my my my.

Never underestimate the Stan side of the marketing force.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 1 June 2006 01:53 (nineteen years ago)

(though this announcement coming at the same time as avi arad announces he's leaving---coincidence???)

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 1 June 2006 02:10 (nineteen years ago)

ie, Arad is an actual Hollywood producer person with successes under his belt who wants to put himself on the market. Stan is nothing more than a mascot-for-hire with no track record in getting money-making movies made.

kit brash (kit brash), Thursday, 1 June 2006 07:02 (nineteen years ago)

it must be approx 35 years since stan lee 'wrote' a half-way decent comic bk

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Thursday, 1 June 2006 07:36 (nineteen years ago)

Those reimaginations of the DC pantheon that Stan did a few years ago looked very very bad.

veronica moser (veronica moser), Thursday, 1 June 2006 11:09 (nineteen years ago)

Oh but surely you must have forgotten about Ravage 2099 which was not only great but the greatest thing in the last 35 years.

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Thursday, 1 June 2006 13:32 (nineteen years ago)

"Just Imagine Stan Lee Inventing" etc.? Why yes, they were ORFUL.

Douglas (Douglas), Thursday, 1 June 2006 13:51 (nineteen years ago)

Didn't his Catwoman have an origin, powers and backstory TOTALLY UNRELATED TO CATS IN ANY WAY?

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Thursday, 1 June 2006 14:55 (nineteen years ago)

Well, the actual Just Imagine Bob Kane Taking Credit For Catwoman wasn't exactly drowning in a sea of cats when she got her start. She started off as a standard sexy forties jewel thief with a sexy-forties-jewel-thief kind of name and then got her special crime gimmick later.
