As some of you know already, Comic Showcase on Charing Cross Road is closing down on June 17th. They started a clearance sales yesterday - all graphic novels are half price. There are still lots of bargains to be had, but the stock is going VERY quickly - I doubt if there'll be much left by the end of the week - I advise all london ILCers to make the trip to Showcase ASAP.

I bought:

Essential Daredevil 1 and 3
Essential Avengers 2
Essential Human Torch
Essential Ant Man
Jack Kirby's Forever People
Captain America: Madbomb
Greatest Batman Stories Ever Told

I am sad that CS are closing down. They were my second favourite London comic shop, although they went down a bit after the move to Charing Cross Road.

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN DURING A WEEK WHEN I HAVE NO MONEY?

Remember myself as a ten-year-old, brimming with excitement at the Covent Garden store to read, er, "The Teasdale Imperative."

was there yesterday. have been going since moving to hemel in about 1990 and it's always the shop i'd go to first because they did seem to remember you from one month to the next (unlike, say, FP).

got Samurai Executioner #9 and #10 for £4 each, a bargain.

started only monday? cripes. was already looking a bit threadbare at around 5 when i got there.

i go to orbital because one of the guys in showcase was a bit condescending when i asked when planet hulk started

does this make me a bad person?

I used to buy orig. artwork there back in the '80's, also, my first ever post bros comic. bummer :( (too far to travel for me, unfortunately)

Not a great deal left by yesterday. Still, I picked up books by Andi Watson and Eddie Campbell for £4.50 each, which wasn't bad.
