are there pulchritudinous lasses or studly boytoys working at your LCS?

or, alternately, are there bangable dudes? (I don't recall reading a post from what seemed to be a woman herein, nor from what seemed to be a gay fella, but what do I know?)

I do not ever remember seeing ANY attractive female customers in ANY comic shop ever. But I have seen many cute, if frequently sullen, alt-rock lookin' chicks working in many shops..

There are currently two VERY cute young ladies what work at St. Mark's in NYC.

So, what you say you, nerdlingers?

And in light of recent thread fireworks, this thread is dangerously close to getting kiboshed.

BUT IT WAS STARTED BY A LADY

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 22 June 2006 19:17 (nineteen years ago)

to the tune of "I'm N Luv (Wit A Stripper)" (or "I'm N Luv [Wit a Dancer]" to you top 40 types)

barefoot manthing (Garrett Martin), Thursday, 22 June 2006 19:19 (nineteen years ago)

um..."bangable"?

Richard Baez (Johnny Logic), Thursday, 22 June 2006 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

Did you ever buy anything specifically to impress the HOT BABO FITT behind the counter?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 22 June 2006 19:24 (nineteen years ago)

A PSYCHEDELIC COAT

Richard Baez (Johnny Logic), Thursday, 22 June 2006 19:30 (nineteen years ago)

baretooth: it's more like to the tune of "Fellow Resembles A Lass." From the superb groop that brought you "Barmy," "Splendiferous," and "I Would Rather Not Be In A Position To Not Witness Any And All Moments."

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 22 June 2006 19:52 (nineteen years ago)

DRUGS. THE ILLEGAL KIND THAT'S ALL POPULAR WITH THE KIDS NOWADAYS.

Richard Baez (Johnny Logic), Thursday, 22 June 2006 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

HGH?

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 22 June 2006 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. I'M TOO "HIGH" ON THE DRUGS.

Richard Baez (Johnny Logic), Thursday, 22 June 2006 20:03 (nineteen years ago)

TOO HGH MORE LIKE.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 22 June 2006 20:56 (nineteen years ago)

uh, c("c), i didn't think this was a bad thing to post, thought it would be harmless. sorry.

Um, so, yeah (looks down sheepishly) what about that "Champions" trade? Hercules, Black Widow, Iceman, Angel and Ghost Rider! Don Heck! George Tuska!

veronica moser (veronica moser), Thursday, 22 June 2006 20:57 (nineteen years ago)

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! MY BOARD??? A JUNKIE!!!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 22 June 2006 21:00 (nineteen years ago)

women work at the toy store where i am forced to buy comics due to office proximity. not bangable though. maybe if it were strictly comics, no dolls/board games/stuffed animals, they would be more attractive. they are the opposite of suicide girls, which is not a bad thing. yesterday i was surprised by a dude working the register. i am not gay so he wasn't bangable either. to me at least.

also, yesterday was my first quasi-autistic comic nerd sighting in there as well. i couldn't tell if he had the hiccups or tourette's. i have never seen a child in there either, at least in the comic section. most of the patrons are middle-aged men in business suits. it makes for an interesting experience as far as comic shopping goes.

sheep sheet (serious sheet), Thursday, 22 June 2006 21:36 (nineteen years ago)

3 guys work at my lcs and they always listen to shit like interpol and sleater kinney. one is nice. one is a dick. one is a bald asian he is nice.

¨ˆ¨ˆ¨ˆ¨ˆ¨ˆ¨ˆ (chaki), Thursday, 22 June 2006 21:40 (nineteen years ago)

There was an attractive woman working in the Forbidden Planet here once. It's been all munters (male and female) since she left.

I am not imagining a game of "Don't Fancy Yours Much" over the guys from Sub City.

I, incidentally, am an oil painting.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 22 June 2006 22:05 (nineteen years ago)

As am I! An Ivan Albright, as it happens.

The jernt I used to use had some plumpkins in it - not too pulquetudinous, and I like some back issues in the longbox, if you know what I mean. The one I go to now is pretty much dudered up. I think a couple of them own it between 'em.

100% CHAMPS with a Yes! Attitude. (Austin, Still), Thursday, 22 June 2006 22:44 (nineteen years ago)

JUST SAY NOES

(also: made my weekly sojourn to the LCS after work today. OUI - an attractive gal behind the counter and two girls of significant purtiness as customers, along with various males of differing levels of attractiveness. A fella behind the counter let me have a free Coke along with my NOT-FREE ALL STAR PSYCHEDELIC COAT, ASTONISHING SHADOWCAT, and NOT CASSANDRANOVA. I feel special.)

Richard Baez (Johnny Logic), Thursday, 22 June 2006 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

"some back issues in the longbox,"

HAAHAHAHAHA (starting to choke that is so funnee)

veronica moser (veronica moser), Thursday, 22 June 2006 23:19 (nineteen years ago)

DV, I remember her. Back in the Dawson Street days. She was attractive at first but got less and less so (or perhaps it was only that my perception of her changed as I grew up), as if hanging around with all those nerds took a physical toll on her.

David N (David N.), Thursday, 22 June 2006 23:24 (nineteen years ago)

Forbidden Planet in Newcastle used to have a girl working there who wore short skirts and no knickers. Kids used to get her to stand on a chair to fetch action figures from high shelves.

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Friday, 23 June 2006 07:01 (nineteen years ago)

one of the blokes who works in mega city comics in camden is not bad looking - like maybe a 7/10

Mark Co (Markco), Friday, 23 June 2006 07:42 (nineteen years ago)

I also met an ex-comic shop employee who looked a bit like Britney Spears. And when I was in Canada I saw nice looking girls in comic shops.

I am disapppointed that no-one else seems to have a good perving experience whilst comic shopping.

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Friday, 23 June 2006 10:26 (nineteen years ago)

The only girls I ever see in my local are 12-yr-old manga fans.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 23 June 2006 13:28 (nineteen years ago)

Uh, the local comic book store that I buy from is a zine shop, and actually... now that I think about it, yes, there was one startlingly cute indie guy at the counter once. Only the once, though. Never seen any eye candy in a proper comic book store though.

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 23 June 2006 13:34 (nineteen years ago)

I don't really have the experience that all comic shop customers are ugly troll men. In all the ones I go to in London the shoppers are fairly average - not really much different from any other shop, but with the odd Simpson Comic Shop Guy type guy in there too.

Mark Co (Markco), Friday, 23 June 2006 13:48 (nineteen years ago)

very seldom do i see old shut-in trolls in NYC comic shops: mostly 30-40 year olds and 15-25 skater doods…

veronica moser (veronica moser), Friday, 23 June 2006 21:47 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, the shut-ins in NYC tend to actually stay shut-in.

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Friday, 23 June 2006 23:33 (nineteen years ago)

Back in the Dawson Street days.

I'd forgotten these.

DV (dirtyvicar), Saturday, 24 June 2006 00:04 (nineteen years ago)

aspects of this thread remind me of that "give her an extra shtupping from me" bit from Hate comic. I am above you pervertalists.

DV (dirtyvicar), Saturday, 24 June 2006 00:05 (nineteen years ago)

I don't remember anyone especially noticeable at either NYC or Portland shops, but... I am not as regular a goer as many.

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 24 June 2006 02:36 (nineteen years ago)

I was at the Farmers Market this morning and I saw one of the guys from the shop (who looks pretty much like I suspect most of the ILCers look, male, late 20s/early 30s, non-descript) and he was with a really good looking woman!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Saturday, 24 June 2006 21:43 (nineteen years ago)

That's nothing. OK Comics in Leeds actually has A SOCIAL SCENE made up of COOL PEOPLE WHO DO INTERESTING THINGS like photography and being in bands and writing who hang out at the shop like it's the cool coffee place or the open mic night or something. It's barely believable. How can a comic shop be a haven of cool indie cats?

Vic F (Vic Fluro), Saturday, 24 June 2006 21:54 (nineteen years ago)

like I suspect most of the ILCers look, male, late 20s/early 30s, non-descript

Yeah but that's, uh, a look I find kinda hot.

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 24 June 2006 22:06 (nineteen years ago)

There are currently two VERY cute young ladies what work at St. Mark's in NYC.

I HAD A CRUSH ON ONE OF THOSE GIRLS... NOW I AM JUST FRIENDS WITH THEM. TOTAL BROS. THEY HOOKED UP THE LOIS LANE ACTION FIGURE.

It's certainly not rare to see fit girls in Forbidden planet in London - but then it's kind of a tourist attraction as well as a comic shop. The place was swarming with em this one time I walked in and Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright were doing a signing.

Oh, sorry, you said working. Disregard.

oh, and also one of the girls who works at Midtown is super foxy.
