I just bought my first longbox. Now how do I put it together?

I don't know if there's a single standard LB. I'll try to get a pic of it if multiple LBs exist. CRISIS ON INFINITE LONGBOX.

Am I supposed to use tape?

Really, this is embarrassing. I'm not fit to call myself a comics nerd.

Insert Tab A into Slot A

You'll find that crates work just as well as longboxes and give one more cred among the "kids".

Yeah, but crates are unsignable. I have a longbox 'graphed by Dave Sim with a sketch of Cerebus wearing a t-shirt that says "300."

Granted, I stopped buying Cerebus well ahead of that because of crazy sexist batshittery, but still.

Spraypaint + crates = AWESOME

AND: You have to assemble longboxes? Mine always come pretty much made.

OK. First you fold up the bottom flap inside the box--it won't stay up, but you hold it up with one hand while you push the side flaps down. Then you let the bottom flap back down on top of the side flaps. I hope this is clear.

God, I must have assembled 1000 of those back when I worked in a comic book store 20 years ago.

I think I got a different kind, Douglas.

Nope, that's it. I explained poorly (and I hope I'm not rising to the bait here).

Flip the whole thing over. Fold Flap 1 in so it's doubled over, i.e. its bottom edge is adjacent to the top edge of the box. (That's the one that won't stay up; just hold it there while you do the rest.)

Fold Flaps 2 and 3 in (so they don't get in the way), then fold flap 4 (and the folded over flaps 2 and 3) in 90 degrees, and let flaps 2 and 3 come back up--they will now be on the inside of the box, with their holes lined up with the holes of the box. Finally, let Flap 1 go back down; it will provide reinforcement for the bottom of the box. No tape necessary.

The lid's self-explanatory, yes?

How do I put my shoes on?

How do you put your shoes on what?

Posting "How Do I Shot Web?" just seems too obvious.

Um, unless I'm being rilly dense, I don't think it has a lid. I assume it's a separate piece that I must have not gotten?

Please consult my diagram. There should be a lid (although I didn't include instructions on how to put the lid together).
