The guy at the Comics Foundry is SPEECHLESS WITH RAGE!! In a video blog! And with good reason as he reads the latest Wizard. It starts slow, but I'm confident you'll be speechless with rage too, or some kind of awe at the sheer level of crassness.

WARLOCK MAG! TAKE NOTE!

Fuck. The stupid computer I'm on today doesn't have sound!!!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 11 August 2006 13:37 (nineteen years ago)

That's where video blogs fall down.

Vic F (Vic Fluro), Friday, 11 August 2006 14:21 (nineteen years ago)

I'm WATCHING it anyway.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 11 August 2006 14:34 (nineteen years ago)

Re: the "well your mag has a VAG ON ITS COVER THIS MONTH" criticisms

I'm a feminist and everything, but can we please get everyone together and explain that not every picture of a naked woman is objectification?

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Friday, 11 August 2006 14:39 (nineteen years ago)

I do love the (titter) (snicker) from the Wizard Staff Guy. That's just so... pathetic. It's kind of beyond sad.

Vic F (Vic Fluro), Friday, 11 August 2006 14:44 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, "Wizard" d00d is a total tool.

Jessie, the cover has no naked woman :( It's very OMGWTFLOL, tho:

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Friday, 11 August 2006 22:11 (nineteen years ago)

i would have rather read this in a blog post than watched this dude trip over his words.

s1ocki (slutsky), Friday, 11 August 2006 22:29 (nineteen years ago)

also his criticism that two subsequent issues of this magazine feature a WOMAN on the cover is LAME.

s1ocki (slutsky), Friday, 11 August 2006 22:31 (nineteen years ago)

Okay, the criticism about how they asked the same questions about two different movies is really fucking stupid, especially when one pair ("What other stars are in 'Sin City 2'?"/"Galactus is in it; what about The Silver Surfer?") isn't actually the same question unless you think actors are analogous to comic book characters (which, you know, I'll concede based on the actors involved).

OH NOES SIMILAR QUESTIONS ASKED ABOUT MOVIES BASED ON COMIX BOOKS!

Toolio. And I don't even like/read Wizard!

I couldn't make it to the point where he was SPEECHLESS WITH RAGE because I was SPEECHLESS WITH VAGUELY ANNOYED BOREDOM.

Jesus Dan (Dan Perry), Friday, 11 August 2006 22:42 (nineteen years ago)

Oh man I thought I was always up for shitting on Wizard but jeez, that guy

Adrienne Begley (sparklecock), Friday, 11 August 2006 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

Just about every criticism he throws up there before he gets to CHO'S DEAD NEIGHBOUR FUNNAGE is pretty feeble, from the movie thing Dan pointed out to the "biggest issue ever" line. The covers thing holds some value, just because it shows how pathetic "Wizard"'s boner for movie adaptations is (I mean, bloody "Fantastic Four 2" and Jolie MAYBE appearing in "Sin City 2" are pretty feeble cover stories), but it's not like that's surprising or anything. The neighbour thing tho is really...wow.

i would have rather read this in a blog post than watched this dude trip over his words.

This is a pretty common problem for me - a lot of bloggers who really work best in writing doing podcasts and videoblogs, it's awkward.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Friday, 11 August 2006 22:56 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, I thought it was ironic that he was blasting Wizhard-on for being crazy go nuts crazy for movie adaptations in a fucking VIDEOBLOG.

100% CHAMPS with a Yes! Attitude. (Austin, Still), Friday, 11 August 2006 23:15 (nineteen years ago)

He talks about the article being offensive to the deceased's children and widow, which seems pretty stupid seeing as the guy's body wasn't found for a month. It's crass pandering writing, but I couldn't help but laugh at the extent it upsets him. I mean, mainstream pop culture journalism=unsubtle and exploitative, get over it.

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Saturday, 12 August 2006 01:05 (nineteen years ago)

the biggest issue ever thing is kind of funny.

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 12 August 2006 01:32 (nineteen years ago)

also a bunch of other things (don't flash those titles so quick) annoyed me on a stricly anal-video-editor level.

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 12 August 2006 01:32 (nineteen years ago)

You can only be SPEECHLESS WITH RAGE in videoblog form, though. It doesn't work if you're speechless with rage in text form. What he needed was somebody to edit it right down to the part where he's SPEECHLESS because the rest of it is fairly dull.

Vic F (Vic Fluro), Saturday, 12 August 2006 01:52 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, that guy in the clip is such a moron, and I hate Wizard!

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Saturday, 12 August 2006 13:54 (nineteen years ago)

He's just trying way too hard to be angry at them.

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Saturday, 12 August 2006 13:54 (nineteen years ago)

I love the outrage at how the magazine has declined and lowered itself to the common denominator. Dudes, it was a repugnant pile of shit in 1991 and it's presumably no different now!

kit (kit brash), Saturday, 12 August 2006 16:07 (nineteen years ago)

Okay so I went back and suffered through the stupid opening bit to get to the dead neighbor rant and I am beside myself with laughter.

Jesus Dan (Dan Perry), Saturday, 12 August 2006 19:20 (nineteen years ago)

i kind of like that cover up there.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Saturday, 19 August 2006 21:24 (nineteen years ago)

That's astoundingly lame (though not half as lame as I feel for commenting on someone's youtube parody of someone's videoblog bitching about a "Wizard" article)

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Sunday, 20 August 2006 14:22 (nineteen years ago)

I dunno, it's a fairly accurate parody, but yeah, really, why bother?

chap who would dare to start Raaatpackin (chap), Sunday, 20 August 2006 14:27 (nineteen years ago)

it's an ad for the Brubaker comic, d00ds

kit brash (kit brash), Monday, 21 August 2006 12:14 (nineteen years ago)

A CRAP ad, tho. :)

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Monday, 21 August 2006 14:36 (nineteen years ago)

no argument here!
