Can anybody tell me some good comic shops in Europe. I am going on a trip in Oct/November and will be in the following cities

Amsterdam
Brussels
Paris
Florence
Venice

I know that Amsterdam has Lambiek, but i can't find much on any of the others i'm afraid...

They have a whole museum of comics in Brussels, you should be grand. I stumbled onto a comic shop while walking around in the touristy bit... so my suspicion is that the city is awash with them.

there's a shop in paris near the Pompadou center with a large english language section (though it may have only been GNs, no monthlies). Can't get more geograpgically precise, I'm afraid, I haven't been for over five years.

I found a shop in Paris that had US comics in it. It was... somewhere in Paris.

Look, they love comics in France, they probably have almost as many comics shops as ones selling lingerie, so you'll be sorted.

The must-see in Amsterdam is Lambiek.

I went to Arkham in Paris and it's pretty cool. There's another store in the Saint Germain area that's devoted to Fantagraphics/Drawn and Quarterly/ L'Association stuff and it's terrific. I *think* it's called "Album."

I went to that store near the Centre Pompidou. They had all kinds of Tintin merch, including a three-foot tall model of the checkered rocket from "Destination Moon."

Theres a corner on Boulevard Saint Germain in Paris - East of the big Metro station and Notre Dae etc, I think - with about 5 comic shops all in a cluster. Album is one of them, though I think its got a few different branches with different specialities all in that 30 metre radius. Some of them sell european stuff in the preferred French style, some sell your Yankee trash, some sell action figures etc. I found some good back issues/out of print trades in the one with all the American comics.
