Prompted by a thrilling youtube clip, I am listening to Raymond Scott's Reckless Nights and Turkish Twilights for the first time in ages. The song "Twilight in Turkey" includes the aformentioned schoolyard sing-song tune. Is this really the beginning? I always had the idea this was just one of those things lost in the mists of time.
