52 (if I can get this week and last week), Detective, and maybe that It's Superman novel, if that's that one that's set in the 30s/40s.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 18:38 (nineteen years ago)

do you have a favorite superhero novel?

disappointing goth fest line-up (orion), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 18:39 (nineteen years ago)

How will issue 14 of Red Sonja ever live up to its predecessor?

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 18:40 (nineteen years ago)

I think the only superhero novels I've read were Marv Wolfmang's Crisis adaptation (STINKO--worse copy-editing than ROCKETO!!!) and Roger Stern's DEATH OF SUPERMAN blubbo (better edited, better written, but still, STINKO).

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

omgwtflol!^@&*!@!

disappointing goth fest line-up (orion), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 18:54 (nineteen years ago)

52, Atom, Agents of Atlas, Uncanny X-Men.

Bummed to see that fourth Doom Patrol trade isn't out this week either.

barefoot manthing (Garrett Martin), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 18:55 (nineteen years ago)

Just Detective for me, I guess, but I still have to get last week's books.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

nothing but nightwing and gi joe: scarlett declassified for me, maybe omac

j blount (papa la bas), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

Nightwing? really?
(it's kinda good/not bad, though, isn't it?)

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 19:16 (nineteen years ago)

scarlette declasiffied? really?
tell me more.

disappointing goth fest line-up (orion), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

scarlette declasiffied? really?
tell me more.

It's Phil Noto drawring~!!
But having read some of the Snake Eyes: Declassified, I doubt that I'll be picking it up, especially since the CBR write-up makes it sound like another post-Jennifer Garner genre exercise.

c('°c) (Leee), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

Uncanny X-Men, 52, and Detective for me, that's it. Lousy week.

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

New Detective AND Life And Times Of Scrooge McDuck Companion SC?!?!?
Hello!

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 20:40 (nineteen years ago)

Huk - I figure the least I can do for the bonanza of freebies is hook you up with a fitty two of the appropriate vintage. Don't do anything rash!

100% CHAMPS with a Yes! Attitude. (Austin, Still), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 00:54 (nineteen years ago)

52, Atom, Agents Of Atlas, Beyond (is it any good??, I wanted to read it but I seem to have completely missed when it started coming out), maybe Uncanny X-Men.

Amadeo (Amadeo G.), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 02:29 (nineteen years ago)

TOO LATE (ps, mailing address on all warlock giveaways is obsolete)!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 02:35 (nineteen years ago)

haha you fuckers totally took the nightwing/post-cobra commander in battle armor gi joe bait - PLZ FULES

i'll be reading a totally different set of likely awful comics this week instead. on the brightside - still haven't read all-star superman!

j blount (papa la bas), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 02:50 (nineteen years ago)

Detective, Y and Hunter-Killer for me. Meh.

Oblivious Lad. (Oblivious Lad), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 05:14 (nineteen years ago)

Scarfed up much of Ex Machina today, es muy stupendo.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 05:17 (nineteen years ago)

For me:

52 WEEK 18: Ralph & Dr. Fate!
ALL-NEW ATOM #3: Byrne goes bye-bye!
DETECTIVE COMICS #823: Self-contained goodness!
2000 AD #1500: Because I like to check in every 500 issues or so
ED THE HAPPY CLOWN #9: Dying to read Chester Brown's notes on the alternate endings
THE LIFE AND TIMES OF SCROOGE MCDUCK COMPANION SC: Don Rosa!!!

Douglas (Douglas), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 05:51 (nineteen years ago)

When the hell is Seven Soldiers #1 coming out? I mean, REALLY!

J (Jay), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 12:18 (nineteen years ago)

Can I just say that I'm actually kinda bummed that JB is leaving The Atomic One, as his work here is the best I've seen from him since I can't remember when. But he's also a douche, so, y'know, happy trails.

PS - if Blount (u bitch) actually reads OMAC, then I'll read Betty & Veronica's Super-Terrific Man-Sized Spectacular.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 12:34 (nineteen years ago)

flip those titles and you got a deal

j blount (papa la bas), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:07 (nineteen years ago)

Fuck an OMAC. How about you read Liberty Meadows & I read PVP? :p

52 Week #18
Agents Of Atlas #2
All-New Atom #3
American Splendor #1
Cross Bronx #1
Detective Comics #823
Ed The Happy Clown #9
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #12
Jack Staff #11
Local #6
Marvel Team-Up #24
Strange Girl #10
Uncanny X-Men #478
X-Men Phoenix Warsong #1
Y The Last Man #49

Huk: Tom DeHaven (the IT'S SUPERMAN writer) is pretty good; he's written a slew of fictionalized comic-centric books that read like lowkey versions of Kavalier & Klay. I read one of his books (about a newspaper comic guy that goes Crumb), and it was OK.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 15:17 (nineteen years ago)

When the hell is Seven Soldiers #1 coming out? I mean, REALLY!

It's solicited for October, this is the first week in September: you've got seven weeks yet before it's time to get worried.

Kit (kit brash), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

What I already got (but haven't read yet, cuz I need to find a goddamn place to live):
Detoxtive
Cinquante-Deux
American Splendor (w/ art by TY TEMPLETON!!!)
Friendly Neighbourhood (really, really like the cover)

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 21:24 (nineteen years ago)

Whoops, not actually FN Spider-Man. I got MARVELL ADVENTUURES!!! It's okay.
AmSplend is really good, though. is it MONTHLY? AWESOME!

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 7 September 2006 16:49 (nineteen years ago)

I think I'm going to give up Dini Detective until JH Williams gets back. It's good, but it's kinda what Azur3us was made for.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 7 September 2006 17:31 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm missing my computer a lot, not just because I should be using it to make money and get writing jobs, but because I miss my free comics. Only three more weeks until my stuff arrives (which means I really, really have to find a place to live so I have somewhere to put it!).

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 7 September 2006 17:54 (nineteen years ago)

Are you out on the street right now?

Are you internetting WITH YOUR MIND?

Or did you find an extra tube?

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 7 September 2006 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

I'm internetting with the FREE GREEN LANTERN RING I got with GLC #1.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 7 September 2006 18:02 (nineteen years ago)

Oh! ILC Art God CAMERON STEWART is doing the covers to Marvel Adventures Spider-Man. They are faboo. I would buy them if I could.

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 7 September 2006 18:41 (nineteen years ago)

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 7 September 2006 18:43 (nineteen years ago)
