La voila: http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_101106.txt

For me:

ESCAPISTS #4--I still don't love this, but it's just on the right side of the enjoy-ometer.
52 WEEK #23--back to the Montoya/Question plot, and about time; actually I'm more psyched about #24, though!
WORLDSTORM #1--I'm curious about the Gail Simone thing, although maybe not three bucks' worth of curious
STAN LEE MEETS DR. STRANGE--the Spider-Man one was way more fun than I expected; plus Bendis and Bagley and Alan Davis this time!
ULTIMATE POWER #1--more Bendisage

Really not much of a week for me. Probably just as well.

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 9 October 2006 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

Just Fables for me, I think.

disappointing goth fest line-up (orion), Monday, 9 October 2006 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

52, Ultimate X-Men, Uncanny X-Men. Not much, but not bad I guess.

FABLES SPECIAL EDITION #1 (MR) $0.25

Looks like a cheapo reprint of #1 to pique new readers' curiosity.

Nothing on the list for me, but I already went to the shop yesterday and bought

TCJ #BILL WILLINGHAM COVER BUT ACTUALLY ON A BILL WILLINGHAM INTERVIEW RATHER THAN A HATCHET JOB ON SOMEONE ELSE
HOTWIRE COMICS & STORIES #1 (Millionaire, Hellman, Sikoryak &al.)
MOME #5
EPILEPTIC hardcover from a pile of loads, all at A$14.95, so it's probably been cut-out in the States at 8 bucks or something

great week!

ESCAPISTS #4 - Inconsequential fun
SCARLET TRACES THE GREAT GAME #4 - This is great book, and some more of you should look at it, like a cross between The Establishment and London't Dark?
52 WEEK #23 - OH NOES SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPOEN!
FABLES #54 - Some more adversary sub-plot rumbling, no doubt. I'm getting kind of bored with this.
GREEN ARROW #67 - I kind of like that DC think Green Arrow fans, of all people, don't have the patience to wait till the OYL/52 conclusion before filling the gaps in.
JLA CLASSIFIED #28 - Howard Chayking in writing good book non-shockah!
MARTIAN MANHUNTER #3 - Being mugged is less painful than paying for this.
NEXT #4 - An under-rated little thing this. Possibly a bit too deliberately wacky, but comes off very much like a DC attempt to do a Seth Fisher book.
WORLDSTORM #1 - Because I'm a mug, presumably
POWERS #20 - "From the writer of New Avengers!"
PUNISHER #39 - The Punisher in Afghanistan. More fun than it sounds.
ULTIMATE POWER #1 - "The crossover of the decade!"
ULTIMATE X-MEN #75 - Not according to Marvel...

DC are still predicting ASSBATS and Ex Machina will ship this week. The fools.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 08:02 (nineteen years ago)

Escapists and Fables, that's it? Wow, I guess purging my pull list is starting to show results.

Oblivious Lad. (Oblivious Lad), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 12:25 (nineteen years ago)

52 but that's it.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 12:42 (nineteen years ago)

ULTIMATE POWER - because I'm an idiot who loves stupid crossovers
WORLDSTORM - see above.

I do occasionally by sensible comics. Just not this week.

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 13:39 (nineteen years ago)

What's going on at the moment to provide Superboy-punch-worthy stupidity?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 13:48 (nineteen years ago)

Nothing as yet, but they've only just started.

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 14:29 (nineteen years ago)

52, Green Lantern Corps, Annihilation, Stan Lee Meets Dr. Strange, and Uncanny X-Men.

So am I the only one around here reading Annihilation? It's been really good thus far.

barefoot manthing (Garrett Martin), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 15:41 (nineteen years ago)

I read everything (including Annihilation). It's pretty good; nothing spectacular, but solid. My favorite part of all this, though, is still the Drax mini that preceded all the space shenanigans.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 15:48 (nineteen years ago)

I missed the Drax mini; it came out before my return. I like how all 19 (or whatever) issues of Annihilation-related material have ended on a "geez these good guys are fucked" note.

barefoot manthing (Garrett Martin), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 16:21 (nineteen years ago)

I see ILC is resisting the addition of an hilarious "In Every Comic Store Ever" thread.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 16:29 (nineteen years ago)

No one reading Umbra makes me sad! It's got stuff that ILC loves, like pill-popping lesbian crime scene investigators! and weird corpses! and neanderthals!

disappointing goth fest line-up (orion), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 16:45 (nineteen years ago)

Ian, you got to lead off with that sort of hype to hook us in the first place!

c('°c) (Leee), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 16:53 (nineteen years ago)

what is ultimate power?

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 16:57 (nineteen years ago)

The Happiness Club knows.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 17:49 (nineteen years ago)

Unhappiness, just like happiness, is a decision you make.

Who knew?

Richard Baez (Johnny Logic), Tuesday, 10 October 2006 18:08 (nineteen years ago)

I will buy the new issue of Dork and I have to buy the Klezmer sc they have waiting for me oh noes. I'll check out 52, Firestorm and the Stan Lee/Dr Strange thing maybe.

Adrienne Begley (sparklecock), Wednesday, 11 October 2006 03:18 (nineteen years ago)

argh Dork I should have gone to comic shop!

occasional mongrel (kit brash), Wednesday, 11 October 2006 07:10 (nineteen years ago)

Not sure if I'm liking the Ultimate twist on Cable. It was going so well until the reveal at the end.

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Wednesday, 11 October 2006 21:25 (nineteen years ago)

I almost bought Dork, tell me more about Umbra!

Also- MOVERS ARRIVED! I have a million comics again! and a computer! and I'm working graves all week! But my new comic shop is open semi-late on Weds, so I got my lousy stuff this week.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 12 October 2006 03:24 (nineteen years ago)

I went to shop! got Dork and Kyle Baker Simpsons and 1st ish of new Sck Monkey

occasional mongrel (kit brash), Thursday, 12 October 2006 08:48 (nineteen years ago)

I sort of looked around for Umbra but didn't see it.

Fables and Criminal are good, Dr. Strange is possibly great, and Detective was okay (pls to stop with the lame Paris Hilton parodies, comics dudes).

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 12 October 2006 13:04 (nineteen years ago)

BUT JORDAN:

Portland Quality
Moscow Waldorf
London Redroof
Darfur Ramada

IT KEEPS ON GIVING!

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 12 October 2006 13:09 (nineteen years ago)

Gary Doubletree

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 12 October 2006 13:11 (nineteen years ago)

There's a rogue Soviet agent in Umbra, and he makes jokes about the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

WHAT MORE CAN YOU NEED TO KNOW?

disappointing goth fest line-up (orion), Thursday, 12 October 2006 13:50 (nineteen years ago)

Is he a monkey?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 12 October 2006 16:32 (nineteen years ago)

David Lapham had a very good young heiress character in his "City of Crime" run in Detective. I don't remember if her name was a gag, but she actually had a point as a character.

52 was pretty good.
Green Lantern Corps was okay.
Green Arrow was even worse than I imagined it would be.
Tales of the Unexpected was a split. I wasn't impressed by Lapham's Spectre story, but Azzarello's Dr. 13 story KICKED ASS. Which is sort of a reversal of my expectations.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 13 October 2006 02:14 (nineteen years ago)

The last two 52s have been great! Especially DREW JOHNSON! (I'm easy.) And, um, the mad scientist island. Even the Question / Montoya / Black Adam shenanigans were enjoyable. And Luthor / Steel nonsense was kept to a minimum (THANKFULLY).

What Huk said re: TotU. Cliff Chiang's art is great, and it's nice to see Azzarello write w/out resorting to corny-ass pulp cliches and/or sucking.

Also, to address previous threads mentioned here:
- Ultimate Cable reveal = AWESOME (because the less idiot Summers shit, the better)
- Ultimate Power = x-over between Ultimate Marvelverse and JMS' Squadron Supreme (9 issues; 3 each written by Bendis, Jeph Loeb, & JMS; it is NOT on my pull list, tho one good word from you dopes and it might be)
- BKV + Dr. Strange = AWESOME (& I hope y'all caught OTKID)
- GLC was OK; I miss Patrick Gleason. Glad to see Salaak get some, tho.
- Gail Simone = ON FIRE; Atom is great; Gen13 got off to a good start; and the preview for Tranquility in that WorldStorm thing looks swank (tho the 8 pages of that might not be worth $3).
- Irrascable Ant-Bro = I like Kirkman, and this was a LOT better than I was expecting (especially after the Pym gunbutt).

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 13 October 2006 14:55 (nineteen years ago)

Also, Ian - the next time a series features pill-popping Russian agents lezzing up, START A THREAD.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 13 October 2006 14:57 (nineteen years ago)

Wait, that BKV Dr. Strange came out this week? WTF?

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Saturday, 14 October 2006 00:58 (nineteen years ago)

Last week, actually. And it's pretty damn good.

barefoot manthing (Garrett Martin), Saturday, 14 October 2006 02:25 (nineteen years ago)

OTKID?

The Yellow Kid (The Yellow Kid), Saturday, 14 October 2006 05:43 (nineteen years ago)

Finally got the Dr. Strange yesterday and it was totally awesome. Is there any good reason why this can't be an ongoing?

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Monday, 16 October 2006 23:24 (nineteen years ago)

I also got the first issue of The Other Side, and it was pretty great too.

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Monday, 16 October 2006 23:35 (nineteen years ago)
