yeah sure, everybody had forgotten abt Gwen Stacey until genius Loeb came along w/ his usual corny bullshit retconning - fuck off back to DC and don't shit up the Ultimates, you lameo

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Thursday, 26 October 2006 13:51 (nineteen years ago)

Jeph Loeb wrote Teen Wolf?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:01 (nineteen years ago)

Straczynski was responsible for the Norman Osborn/Gwen Stacy retcon pairing (I read the trade) - what did Loeb do? I missed the late '90s/early '00s on Spider-Man.

lumberingwoodsman (Chris Hill), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

From that article, I did like Loeb's attention to putting out a quality product with a single artist, delays and all.

lumberingwoodsman (Chris Hill), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:06 (nineteen years ago)

It's the single writer that's the problem.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:07 (nineteen years ago)

Heh. I'm not as up on writers as I am on artists, but I thought Hush was a good tour through Batman's villains. Plus I dug the Jim Lee art.

lumberingwoodsman (Chris Hill), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:15 (nineteen years ago)

Er, but comic books -- they are gum!

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:25 (nineteen years ago)

Warren Ellis to thread...

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:47 (nineteen years ago)

oh, loblaws

THE FUCK

JL: Yeah. Go with it guys. Have a great day because the Elite worked out so well for you. [Ed Note: Jeph speaks of the DC Universe characters that began as a send-up of ‘The Authority.'] But the arc is really good fun. I like the fact that the people that we were tweaking thought it was funny.

RT: You weren't doing it in a mean way at all.

JL: It wasn't a Dan Slott story. It was not intended to say “look how clever I'm being.” It was intended to say that all of comicdom comes from those two heroes and in the end - it does!

BEING MEAN = BEING DAN SLOTT?

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 26 October 2006 15:28 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, what a bizarre misreading of Slott.

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Thursday, 26 October 2006 15:37 (nineteen years ago)

I guess the happy news is that Jeph is now far, far away from my beloved Lost.

and yes, good riddance. Is it wrong to assume that "comic book pro" Jeph Loeb is responsible for the (decreasing) degree of shittiness on "Heroes"?

barefoot manthing (Garrett Martin), Thursday, 26 October 2006 15:44 (nineteen years ago)

I don't really like Loeb, but I got the sense from that interview that he was being slightly ironic in a way that doesn't really come across in print. I mean, he couldn't be that much of a jackass, right?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 26 October 2006 15:52 (nineteen years ago)

Actually I kinda doubt that he is, though the Slott comments seems kinda wrong headed.

Matthew Perpetua! (Matthew Perpetua!), Thursday, 26 October 2006 15:53 (nineteen years ago)

Not everyone likes a quality product with delays and all = Spider-Man / Black Cat?

Daredevil/Bullseye- The Target!?!?!?
Perhaps my grandchildren will enjoy part 2.

Don't mean to single out one particular writer, but y'know?
