Who the hell is the chick with the mutton chops? That can't be Zatanna, can it?

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:29 (twenty-one years ago)

It can!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

All "Black Like Lois Lane" jpgs are not required to appear on this thread, BTW.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

It ain't Mary Marvel!

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Best title of a Lois Lane comic ever, though.

I can't believe that's Zatanna. I thought her look was more or less changeless, barring a hat and a few clothing changes. She looks like Dick Grayson that time when he was a crossdressing DEA agent who came to give Coop a hand!

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

She's had at least three costumes.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

See, by supporting character standards, that may as well be changeless!

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, I'm still wearing the same clothes myself.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 June 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

WHAT DID I SAY HUCK??!??!!?

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:01 (twenty-one years ago)

whoops, I missed the "not" in your post, sorry, David.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

YOU!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

ILC's first uberthread flamewar should absolutely be about black Lois Lane.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:10 (twenty-one years ago)

It'd be a nice change of pace than other boards getting all cranky about Rob Liefeld or John Byrne or Green Lantern.

BLL is bangin', by the way.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

You know that there's talk of B3y0nc3 playing her in the next movie.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

BLL?

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

nevermind.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I have actually been present during an argument about whether or not BLL's breasts were larger than LWLL's.

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 11 June 2004 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

LWLL?

"they're behind you!"

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 07:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Huk-L, I am going to predict that your link concerns the introduction of SODOM & GOMMORAH (and Andrew's post pretty much cinches that knot). I'm not even gonna click on it, I'm so sure.

Between this & the "Nightcrawler is a demon" / Church of Humanity nonsense during his Uncanny X-Men run, I'm beginning to wonder if C4uck @u5ten (the Action Comics writer) isn't some sort of anti-Xtian freakazoid, or (at the very least) has some ego-sized chip on his shoulder regarding organized Western religion that causes him to vent his spleen in funny books. But, then, if you're naming villians after those 2 cities, then you're inadvertently making SOME comment about the events that took place in those cities, and that seems (to me) to suggest that this move is more of a pro-Xtian fundaMENTALIST move. I hope they have a boy sidekick called Buttplug.

I'm holding out for LOT & HIS WIFE to become regulars in Batman's Rogue Gallery during the PILLAR OF SALT x-over event this Christmas.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Sweet Jesus.

Huck, you have an almost disturbing ability for finding comics images online, btw.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 17:08 (twenty-one years ago)

(actually, I just did an ILX search for "batman", "robin", "butt" and that image had been posted by Dan himself on the "Superheros Who Might Be Gay" thread. Though it may have appeared earlier. I have...uh, a deep, uh, fascination with comics images, so I guess I do put in the extra effort.)

NO WAY!!!!! !! Black Lois move over!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 13 August 2004 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, more comics cover copy should start with, "Everything happens when..."

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 13 August 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

and "Don't ask: Just buy it!"

Huck, Friday, 13 August 2004 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Everything happen when ... BIZARRO MAKE CHICKEN VINDALOO!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 13 August 2004 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

"RUSHING towards the GREATEST CLIMAX EVER SEEN IN DON RICKLES!"

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 13 August 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

"Everything Happens When" should be the title of a comic, like "Marvel Team-Up Starring Spider-Man And," where every issue, you know, the blank had to be filled in. Or "Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating..." for a more recent example.

And ALL major company events should take place in that title, see.

EVERYTHING HAPPENS WHEN ... Bane Breaks Batman's Back!

EVERYTHING HAPPENS WHEN ... The Thunderbolts Are Actually The Masters Of Evil!

EVERYTHING HAPPENS WHEN ... Captain Marvel Dies Of Cancer! No Shit!

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 13 August 2004 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)

SPOILER!(?)

EVERYTHING HAPPENS WHEN ... Magneto Is Xorn, And Magneto Dies, And Magneto Isn't Dead, And Xorn Is Real! Yeah, That's The Ticket!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 13 August 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

And the inter-company crossover of the year:

WHAT IF EVERYTHING HAPPENS

Tep (ktepi), Friday, 13 August 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

You giys *haven't* read the JIMMY OLSEN ADVENTURES collection yet? For shame. Probably the best thing I've read so far this year. Seriously.

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Saturday, 14 August 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I've got a giant fourth world graphic novel care package coming at me from Amazon, I've already got all the new gods stuff I think, and some of the forever people so it's the Olsen I'm most drooling for.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Sunday, 15 August 2004 07:11 (twenty-one years ago)

"giys". Heh.

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Sunday, 15 August 2004 16:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Huck, Monday, 16 August 2004 03:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah, so it is. The inking looks a bit like Davis.

Wooden (Wooden), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I think it's Byrne inking himself, back before he decided to switch to a pen thicker than his skull. Wonder Girl looks like she's wearing grannie panties.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
