BECAUSE PLANET HULK WENT UNDER

Offtopic, but my copy of She-Hulk (because Earth is the PLANET WITHOUT HULK) this week was hugely screwy with printing, layout, and binding errors. Which made the Abomination eating chicken wings WAY more funny.

Anything concerning the Abomination eating chicken wings is TOTALLY on-topic for this thread!

HULK RECOMMENDS STEAK TAR-TAR

Anyway, I have thorougly enjoyed all of PLANET HULK (which, in case you missed it, features El Grande Greeno stranded on an alien planet in a GLADIATOR Russell Crowe fashion, paired up w/ all sorts of aliens from Marvel's storied history to help liberate the indigenous folk of this place) - the last issue ends w/ Hulk (AKA The Green Scar - your feelings for this name will probably mirror your feelings for this storyline) as king / savior, getting sucked on by these "spike" alien creatures after defeating the tyrannical red-skinned king guy (he what was subjugating every possible lifeform on the planet)!

Looks like King Hulk is gonna open up a can of interplanetary whupass on Sol-3! DO IT NOW

Planet Hulk was a really nice throwback to the Jarella/Crossroads stories they did in the past, which I always dug. (See also: Rocky Grimm, Space Ranger!) So much fun.

I hate to constantly ask questions I would know the answers to if I still read Newsarama, but um what's World War Hulk?

HES COMING BACK TO EARTH AND HE'S NOT HAPPY!!!!!

NRAMA: Now you’ve promised no major Civil War-type scope events next summer, Joe. Civil War to “World War” sounds pretty big and escalating to us. This still a smaller scale event, or do you need to amend your earlier promises?

JQ: In scope and as to what it means to the Marvel Universe, World War Hulk is every bit as important and huge as Civil War, it’s actually a story that is made possible by the events of Civil War.

I don't know why I like that, when I hated CW from the start.

However, with respect to the sheer number of tie in titles, this will nothing like Civil War. It’s a giant story but not a giant publishing event so the investment for fans will be minimal and it will be constructed very similar to our past Ultimate Universe events. But, the story will involve almost everyone, will have lots and lots of smashing and will answer some questions once and for all that have been troubling Marvel readers for some time now.

World War Hulk. or “WWH” as I’m sure we’ll be calling it will be written by Greg Pak and drawn by John Romita Jr. and will be shipping in May. More details to come!"

Cool!

Questions that trouble Marvel = Hulk's exact body count

I reckon Marvel are coming out of the closet once and for all and putting it up into five figures. If I was writing it I'd totally have him be an election issue:

"The Hulk has killed more American Soldiers than Vietnam! He's killed more than ten times as many American civilians as Al-Qaeda! A vote for Hillary is a vote for the Hulk. Vote Ross. I'm General Thunderbolt Ross and I approved this message."

What ever happened to that Hulk series that left off with him being a zen mack up in a monastery in Tibet? I keep looking for more of that but all I ever found was that fucking planet hulk bullshit every month.

Ha, that was Damon Lindelof's Ultimate Hulk Vs. Wolverine, which will probably never be completed given Lindelof's workload as The Dude Who Runs Lost.

one month passes...
Check(list) it out!

Boo to WWH: FRONTLINES - what, is Marlo gonna turn into THE TROLLOP or some similarly corny sack of shit?

David R., Friday, 23 February 2007 21:59 (eighteen years ago)

yah that sounds lame but those panels look pretty awesome. i hope greg pak is over seeing this whole operation.

chaki, Saturday, 24 February 2007 08:12 (eighteen years ago)

I'm glad to see that Peter David isn't involved w/ this, cause his 'big return' storyline, where Nightmare has become all powerful after 9/11 and the Hulk mistakes illusion for reality and wanders abt an island for 6 issues, was one of the v. worst GNs I've read since I got back into comics

Bought the fourth She-Hulk volume the other day and so far it seems a vast improvement on the rather dreary volume three, Slott back on form tho' the art has never been so gd since Bobillo left
