Lest we forget:

The Pips played in Toronto last Saturday, as it 'appens. Fun stuff. Creepy audience, though.

By creepy, I mean, most everyone who wasn't me.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some other music video that does the same trick, but damn if I remember what it was.

The animated version of The Maxx did some nice comic book tricks, such as turning the screen into different shapes of "panels".

The mighty, much lamented Samurai Jack did similar things, loads of split screens and changing aspect ratios.

the samurai jack multiple aspect ratio thing was such a good trick i'm surprised it hasn't been bitten more.

The Hulk movie (I may be the only person on earth who liked this) did a lot of that stuff

Dude, the Maxx was almost like watching someone film a comic & put jazz to it. My bro & I concurred it would have worked better as a TPB collection w/CD soundtracks included. Good visuals but god was that series ever slow-paced.

Did you know it was based on a comic? Anyway, the comic did some animation tricks too, which I thought worked better on screen. And I really didn't find it slow-paced, it's one of the best animated series ever. I mean, it's about loneliness and denial and other psychological stuff, I wouldn't expect it too be too fast.
