2000AD - is there a recent entry point?

Having flicked through 2000ADs on my last few comic shop visits, I'm both drawn to giving it a go and completely at a loss about where to start. Is there any issue from the last few months that would serve as a decent entry point, or is every issue full of part 7s of volume 3s of X, plus Judge Dredd adventure 27,000?

When I was reading it every week they'd have a 'clear the decks' issue every six months or so which would feature all first episodes of storylines, usually with one completely new strip in there as well. Don't know if they still do it.

Old stuff is best, though. Get the Judge Dredd Complete Case Files, though I'd probably start with vol 2, the first one being pretty much proto-Dredd.

Right now, your best bet is probably to go back to the first episode of Origins, the huge JD mega-epic they're doing right now - either that or Prog 2007.

I think I'm gonna get the Origins collection when it comes out, just to check in on Old Stoney Face for the first time in ten years.
