And here we go!

for me:
52 WEEK 46: more merriment in the mighty Marvel manner
ARMY @ LOVE #1--saw a preview of this a few weeks ago and it looks fabulous--crazed satire about the Iraq war
THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #2--first issue was a genuinely good time, looking forward to seeing where this goes
SHOWCASE PRESENTS HAWKMAN VOL. 1--nice Kubert art, bonkers stories
THE SPIRIT #4--more Pure Comics Pleasure
BUDDY DOES JERSEY GN--actually got this already, the second half of HATE in b&w

That cover to B&TB is wonderful.

Chuck_Tatum, Monday, 19 March 2007 19:41 (eighteen years ago)

Trashy, but wonderful.

Army @ Love looks fantastic, but Cy-Gor and Bloodhunter kinda broke me of buying Veitch single issues.
Buddy Does Jersey is going to look SO DREADFUL in b&w, but I want it to sit on the shelf next to Seattle.

energy flash gordon, Monday, 19 March 2007 22:42 (eighteen years ago)

Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 20 March 2007 15:08 (eighteen years ago)

Runaways saga is just a book that walks you through the entire Vaughan run on the book so that you can buy Whedon's first issue and know what's what. It's basically $4 worth of "previously on Runaways..."

Mr. Perpetua, Tuesday, 20 March 2007 15:27 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, I think I'll skip that.

Jordan, Tuesday, 20 March 2007 15:37 (eighteen years ago)

But all told through the eyes of precocious tween Molly! Also includes NEVER BEFORE SEEN sketches and stuff. COLLECTIBLE item alert!

Leee, Tuesday, 20 March 2007 16:14 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, I forgot about ARMY @ LOVE - I'll probably get it. Veitch + High Concept Almost Doomed From The Onset = quite interesting.

R Baez, Tuesday, 20 March 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

Wow. 52 + Brave & Bold + Army @ Love = most fun new-release day for me in a while. (Forgot to get The Spirit.)

Douglas, Wednesday, 21 March 2007 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

Glad to say that Carey's X-Men is back on track after a few very wobbly issues. I want to blame Humberto Ramos, and though he kinda blows, most of the blame really had to go with Carey for his lazy villain plot.

I have Army @ Love here, but I've got to say, I'm kinda dreading it.

Mr. Perpetua, Wednesday, 21 March 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

If Veitch is writing and the word "CyGor" is nowhere in sight, there is very little to dread.

Deric W. Haircare, Wednesday, 21 March 2007 23:00 (eighteen years ago)

I went to the shop at lunch just to try out first issue of Army @ Love but they didn't have it :(

so I went and got American Elf v.2 from bookshop instead.

energy flash gordon, Thursday, 22 March 2007 07:26 (eighteen years ago)

Army @ Love is hilarious, sexy, and action packed.

I heartily endorse it.

Oilyrags, Thursday, 22 March 2007 14:45 (eighteen years ago)

I was NOT expecting that much fun from 52 at this point. I had pretty much resigned myself to 6 more weeks of Black Adam punchy-sadface.

Dr. Superman, Thursday, 22 March 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

Is there lots of Buddy action?? Pls say yes, Superdoctor!

Leee, Thursday, 22 March 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

no Buddy this week, but he's in the coming soon box for next week

OMG, the last page of Birds of Prey was awesome and a total surprise!!

markco, Thursday, 22 March 2007 16:36 (eighteen years ago)

This was definitely a good week for 52. The first 14 pages or so were Grant-tastic.

Mr. Perpetua, Thursday, 22 March 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

I also enjoyed Brave and the Bold #2, which I guess is a given because I really love Waid's version of Supergirl.
