Ah, man. Everybody always cites his DETECTIVE run (because it's amazing), but his DR. STRANGE stuff is also first-rate, and then there's MISTER MIRACLE and MADAME XANADU and and and...

Years ago I came across some Jack Chick pamphlets in a style very similar to his. Always been curious about that.

Character aside, that's an awesome cover.

really sad, nobody drew a better bats, or a better background

there was that pre-Gangs of NY Gangs of NY-style Green Lantern thing writted by Chaykin that Rogers did pretty fine artwork on too.

three weeks pass...
So sad. I loved his Dr. Strange run as a kid. Rest well, Marshall.

Marshall Rogers was always one of my favorites.

I re-read the Detective issues and read for the first time the Dark Detective mini-series from a couple of years ago in the past couple of days. Marshall Rogers was so awesome. The city shots in the original Detective run are about as good as you can get.

It blew me away so much I am dying to track down some of the other Englehart/Rogers work like the first year of the 80s Silver Surfer and the graphic novel Coyote they did for Eclipse in the 80s. I remember really liking both of those.

I'd also like to read those Mister Miracle issues they did together in the late 70s, but I bet like all of those old Fourth World stuff they are probably worth a couple of bucks now.
