It's up here.

For me:

52 WEEK #51: back to the plot!
WILL EISNER'S SPIRIT ARCHIVES VOL. 21 HC: although I think this might be where Eisner drifted away from it
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN VOL. 1 HC: hyper-deluxe reprint of all the Ditko material, supposedly with the best reproduction yet; I think it goes without saying that I'm going the Amazon route for this
DAREDEVIL #96: la la la back to the status quo la la

So not a big week in some sense; in another sense, the biggest week of the year for me...

52.51 (please don't suck as bad as last week)
Daredevil

Maybe one or two other things, since I was counting on spending the dough anyway on Monster Society of Evil, which is apparently pushed back.

Oilyrags, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

52, Supergirl & Legion, Wonder Woman, Daredevil. Maybe JSA. Also, the final BKV Runaways digest for my bookshelf.

Mr. Perpetua, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:59 (eighteen years ago)

RIP Wetworks - my Mike Carey love can only take so much idiotic Underworld-esque vamp / werefolk shenanigans.

Dudes, DID YOU KNOW that there's a TPB collecting all of Alan Moore's Future Shocks? I totally bought it (for shipping this week)! And I am PSYCHED!

David R., Monday, 23 April 2007 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

Yikes, after 75$ (at US cover prices) last week, this barely seems worth the 2.25$ bus fare.

52 WEEK #51
BLUE BEETLE #14

PLEASE TO RECOMMEND MORE NON-FICTION/NON-FICTION-Y CARTOONIST STUFF LIKE HOUDINI AND THE SALON (AND LOUIS RIEL)

Dr. Superman, Monday, 23 April 2007 17:09 (eighteen years ago)

Did you read Jessica Abel's La Perdida?

Mr. Perpetua, Monday, 23 April 2007 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

I mean, it's not non-fiction, but close...

Mr. Perpetua, Monday, 23 April 2007 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

Nothing for me, awesome

Jordan, Monday, 23 April 2007 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

Just Daredevil, which may very well be good!

R Baez, Monday, 23 April 2007 19:45 (eighteen years ago)

Daredevil and fiffftteeedduuu

Chuck_Tatum, Monday, 23 April 2007 20:07 (eighteen years ago)

Do you know if it's just his Future Shocks or all his 2000AD shorts? I'd guess the latter, there's some very good stuff there either way. I do wish they wouldn't only ever reprint the Moore ones though - there's Morrison, Milligan, Gaiman (well, once), and no doubt many others waiting in the archives. Best Of Future Shocks!

Groke, Monday, 23 April 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

52 (will they ever resolve anything?)
Blue Beetle
Supergirl And The LOSH
Fantastic Four
Wisdom, which is actually pretty good!

Amadeo, Monday, 23 April 2007 23:20 (eighteen years ago)

Nothing for me until the Comics Journal turns up in bookshop. I'm in Brisbane this week and was hoping to find Peepshow #14, since my shop didn't order it and refuse to reorder it, while lying, but everyone I've spoken to says they haven't seen it either.

I mean, it's not non-fiction, but close...

It's fucking over-the-top cliched melodrama! DUMB GRINGO CHICK BONES LOCAL ROUGH TRADE, GETS CAUGHT UP IN KIDNAPPING AND DRUG-RUNNING OH NOES WILL HER ALABASTER SKIN BE SULLIED* is not a sober piece of reportage.

Does the latest Moore Tooth-shorts (yeah, I think it does include Time Twisters as well) book even include the ones he insisted on being left out of the old FS book cos he'd plagiarised them?

*I still haven't read #5

http://www.ilxor.com/ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet?boardid=57&threadid=1487 = La Perdida thread (not risking hyperlinks in the current coding situation)

Daniel_Rf, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 10:45 (eighteen years ago)

Just saw "Hot Fuzz", incidentally -- the first Garth Ennis movie?

Heh.

R Baez, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

Worst Week Ever. But I've gotta recommend God Save the Queen. Otherwise - this week drought = next week bounty?

Mordechai Shinefield, Friday, 27 April 2007 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

The Bucky O'Hare thing seems to be calling me by name....

Stone Monkey, Friday, 27 April 2007 11:51 (eighteen years ago)

Did anyone read Amazons Attack? ANYONE?

Dr. Superman, Monday, 30 April 2007 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

I DID AND IT SUCKED. Well, it was just drab & obnoxious & blah. Tho Pete Woods art is always fun to look @, I just didn't give a shit about a resurrected Hippolyta (rezzed in the pages of WONDER WOMAN of course) going buckwild on the US. Also obnoxious: the semi-crossovers w/ WW proper. I shall buy NO MORE.

David R., Monday, 30 April 2007 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

hahahahaha, it's REALLY awful yes. has WW had any adventures in the last 20 years that didn't boil down to Circe shenanigans?

Dr. Superman, Monday, 30 April 2007 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

Oh! And regarding ALAN MOORE FUTURE SHOCKS - it seems to be an odds-n-ends collection, w/ FUTURE SHOCKS & other stuff he's worked on that's not-so-easily collected. So far, I'm enjoying Humorous / Puerile Alan Moore much more than Pithy / Witty Alan Moore, & there seems to be a 1:5 ratio in that regard in this book.

David R., Monday, 30 April 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

As for Circe Chick: um, no, I don't think so (tho I believe the first 2 years of George Perez's run were relatively Circe-free) (check 'em out, if you have the technology, especially the 4-part FIGHT WITH THE GODS thing that might've gently xed-over w/ MILLENIUM) (issues 10-13).

RIP Rucka's WW ;_;
