I say Legion vol. 1.

Although the only volume I've actually sat down and read straight through was Jonah Hex.

Also, the Flash & Adam Strange ones are going to rule.

"Shazam", yeah. To me it's just frankly the most readable . the only one not stuck into a very rigid formula. Of course seeing how much madness and art such a formula can hold is part and parcel of Showcase fun, but it does also make it pretty hard to get through them.

I think Superman Vol 1 is the champ, but I also love my Legion and Shazam volumes.

I have to agree with Douglas, much as I think the answer should be Jonah Hex I think it actually is Legion Vol 1.

Metamorpho is a very good volume too, in terms that it has a single(ish) story through the entire collection.

I still don't know how to redress the Shazam business. I didn't buy it, and if I buy it now, I'll lose face at my LCS, but if I buy it somewhere else, I won't get my keen discount.
