Meanwhile, I'm just lying back and thinking of England...
This week is nearly dead for me: DAREDEVIL #97 - wherein plot mechanics will rule the day. ELVIS ROAD HC - Not this week, but soon (and very...).

Link!
I'm getting Daredevil, New Avengers Illuminati, Countdown, and JSA. I'll eventually get that Jack Kirby Fourth World Omnibus, but probably not til August or September cos I'm moving soon and will need the money for that and furniture and blah blah blah.

DARN
I copied the diamond link and all, too - I'm a yutz.
OH: and clearly the JACK KIRBY 4TH WORLD lies in my near future, ala ELVIS ROAD.

This thread is a spider-web of my own making upon which I am enmeshed...

Countdown 28
You from the future?
― Leee, Tuesday, 29 May 2007 20:25 (eighteen years ago)
No, but I can't type.
― Oilyrags, Tuesday, 29 May 2007 20:34 (eighteen years ago)
DAREDEVIL #97--things get worse for the Gladiator NEW AVENGERS ILLUMINATI #3--in which we find out that they were secretly behind Contest of Champions or something
So wait, wasn't the Kirby Fourth World HC supposed to be out this week too?
Also, I've seen an advance copy of the 52 vol. 1 tpb, which has some entertaining commentary from everyone involved.

DA FUG!?! BLUE BEETLE #15 - month in and month out, this is one consistently good and fun comic, probably the only DC comic that hasn't sorely disappointed me in the last year. COUNTDOWN 48 - I'm sticking in until Giffen shows up. If it doesn't drastically improve by then THE WARLOCK IS OUT.
― Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 29 May 2007 22:39 (eighteen years ago)
I wouldn't hold yr breath on the Giffen front.
― Mr. Perpetua, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 01:58 (eighteen years ago)
THAT SADFACE WAS ME!
― Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 05:30 (eighteen years ago)
HELLBOY DARKNESS CALLS #2 AMAZONS ATTACK #2 COUNTDOWN 48 DEADMAN #10 JSA CLASSIFIED #26 DAREDEVIL #97 PUNISHER PRESENTS BARRACUDA MAX #4 ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #42
I can barely get excited enough about any of that to go to the store.
― aldo, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 09:15 (eighteen years ago)
oh come on now, I'm sure JSA Classified will present a riveting story of when Wildcat learned the true meaning of Arbor Day.
― Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 10:02 (eighteen years ago)
If only.
― aldo, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 12:48 (eighteen years ago)
I went to get Shaolin Cowboy, but the nu-comics had not arrived. That sadface was me.
― energy flash gordon, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 13:16 (eighteen years ago)
Did the Showcase Flash come out a week or two ago? That might motorvate me.
― Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 18:30 (eighteen years ago)
But what will the world do without Countdown Putdown?
― Oilyrags, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 19:39 (eighteen years ago)
Showcase Flash was resolutely meh. Didn't really engage me that much and I was struggling towards the end, although once the backup features kicked it it was them that were keeping me going.
― aldo, Thursday, 31 May 2007 08:08 (eighteen years ago)
Worst comic's week ever.
― Mordechai Shinefield, Friday, 1 June 2007 12:16 (eighteen years ago)
I'm experiencing post-52 nonchalance.

I actually bought a lot on my last trip! Spirit Daredevil Usagi Yojimbo Vol. 2 Walt Kelly's Our Gang Fell TPB (Douglas, you were totally right, this is great) Vol. 2 Dick Tracy reprints (EXCITED) Alison Bechdel's Fun House in tpb: everyone in the world should get this now; much much much more engaging that dtwo4
― forksclovetofu, Sunday, 3 June 2007 05:14 (eighteen years ago)
If there's ever a shaolin cowboy trade; I'll buy.
I love Bechdel. I must've reread Fun House 30 times since I bought it.
― Mordechai Shinefield, Sunday, 3 June 2007 05:30 (eighteen years ago)
I spent five minutes starting at "dtwo4" before I figured out what the acronym was for. Maybe it would've been 2 or 3 minutes if there was more internal consistency: D2WO4
― Mr. Perpetua, Sunday, 3 June 2007 17:39 (eighteen years ago)
A couple I didn't get around to until now, but they turned out to be great:
Drawing From Life #1 - Hysterical The Ride, Die Valkyrie #1 - Like the shortlived Fox show Drive, but manga'ish, and filled with awesome-sauce.
