http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_060607.txt

I'm getting these fine products:

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #4: "I walked in a straight line, went up to the New York border."
PUNISHER #48: "Been following datelines, Honey, and I hit the snow."
SOCK MONKEY - THE INCHES INCIDENT #4: "I found where my fate lies, wrapped up like a small novella."
SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE #19: "Contained by a hundred pictures, all of you."

Jack of Fables

Jordan, Monday, 4 June 2007 19:53 (eighteen years ago)

It's so quiet round here now 52's over. Sigh. Just Superman for me.

chaki, Monday, 4 June 2007 22:33 (eighteen years ago)

Wow, what a slight week. Buffy, Uncanny X-Men, Countdown and that's it. If it weren't for Buffy and my incredible love of having a routine, I'd probably just skip going to the shop.

Mr. Perpetua, Monday, 4 June 2007 22:45 (eighteen years ago)

I'm definitely going through 52 withdrawal. Not so much the comic, but the routine.

Chuck_Tatum, Monday, 4 June 2007 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

Sock Monkey
Countdown (Will I ever wise up? Dandy Dio hopes not!)
Outsiders (damn crossover!)

Wow. I expect to regret 2/3 of my comics purchases this week. I think I'm doing something wrong.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 00:04 (eighteen years ago)

IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN and I think that's it for me.

I've already read I SHALL DESTROY ALL THE CIVILIZED PLANETS, though, and I recommend it very highly--totally insane 1939-1941 stories by Fletcher Hanks, who is very much like what would happen if Michael Kupperman wasn't kidding.

Douglas, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

Not as quiet a week as some people, but not that busy either. IS COMICS ON HOLIDAYS?

aldo, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 09:47 (eighteen years ago)

Endangered Species starts at the end of the month in X-Men #200. Aside from a one-shot, it's just a back-up feature. It's just lead-up to the crossover thing, I'm a bit skeptical about it being something to be excited about. I mean, I'm skeptical about ANYTHING having to do with the X-Men being exciting any time in the foreseeable future.

Mr. Perpetua, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 11:05 (eighteen years ago)

Sock Monkey.

energy flash gordon, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 12:21 (eighteen years ago)

It's a fantagraphix week for me; presuming everything on their site is out at stores: Friedman's "Fun Never Stops", the aforementioned "Destroy All Planets" and Hernandez gold with both new reprint books and the Ignatz LnR.

forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 14:02 (eighteen years ago)

I deleted my myspace and facebook, and I'm this closing to shutting down my comics file. But if I don't, this is what I'll get (as well as whatever from last week).

ALL NEW ATOM #12
COUNTDOWN 47
DETECTIVE COMICS #833
MIDNIGHTER #8
SUPERMAN #663
WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY #7

Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 15:02 (eighteen years ago)

One: I feel Dr. Supes' pain.

Two: AISLERS SET

David R., Tuesday, 5 June 2007 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

I just saw that PunWarJou is skedded for next week, and that gives me hope (even though I don't buy it)(but I am buying Midnighter???)

Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

maybe I wouldn't be so blase about comics if I wasn't reading such shit

Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

I am feeling that as well.

FWIW, Huk, I'm 75% sure that issue of Midnighter is being written by Christos Gage (the guy what was abetting Mahnkelips on Stormwatch: PHD).

David R., Tuesday, 5 June 2007 15:42 (eighteen years ago)

Two: AISLERS SET

Aye - I was too bored to conjure up something vaguely amusing. Thanks google + bowlie boards!

ALSO: Hernandez gold with both new reprint books and the Ignatz LnR.

Really now? I thought those were scheduled for July...

R Baez, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

Snap Decisions:

Jack of Fables #11 - That guy becomes less and less sympathetic every issue... at least it's still entertaining.

Omega Flight #3 - I'm done giving this chances. If Omega won't become interesting, I won't read it.

Mordechai Shinefield, Wednesday, 6 June 2007 22:33 (eighteen years ago)

gage wrote this midnighter, and GIFFEN is coming on to write f/t. so might hold on. wtt, otoh, wtf, what am i thinking?

Dr. Superman, Thursday, 7 June 2007 02:20 (eighteen years ago)

Superman looks good though.

Dr. Superman, Thursday, 7 June 2007 02:21 (eighteen years ago)

Hm, even McKeever can't make Countdown not suck.

Chuck_Tatum, Thursday, 7 June 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

!!! Why would they put him on such a generic superhero line-wide crossover thingy? (has he even done comics in the last five years?)

energy flash gordon, Friday, 8 June 2007 02:39 (eighteen years ago)

lol at NOTHING I wanted being released yet.

forksclovetofu, Friday, 8 June 2007 05:06 (eighteen years ago)

Sean McKeever, not Ted McKeever!

Douglas, Friday, 8 June 2007 05:49 (eighteen years ago)

i got:
iron man
spidey luvs MJ (more action pls. just a little more. even a firestar appearance would be nice. sometimes this starts to feel like a saturday morning cartoon.)
detective comics (grebt!! still love paul dini.)
the atom

ian, Friday, 8 June 2007 15:34 (eighteen years ago)

IS THE COVER TO THIS WEEKS COUNTDOWN SYMBOLIC OF MCKEEVER'S TRANSITION FROM MARVEL TO DC? MARY JANE TO MARY MARVEL?

DISCUSS.

R Baez, Friday, 8 June 2007 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

McKeever was doing a signing at my local shop when I went in on Wednesday. I did not ask him this question. Actually, I didn't ask him any questions.

J, Friday, 8 June 2007 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

I did not ask him this question.

I'd worry for your mental health if you did.

R Baez, Friday, 8 June 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)

Sean McKeever, not Ted McKeever!

oh, er

can people please stop calling some newjack corporate dude I've never read anything of by the name of someone who was a really interesting cartoonist once and that I hope will come out with something good again? thanks.

energy flash gordon, Saturday, 9 June 2007 01:36 (eighteen years ago)

Atom was working overtime on being c-RAZ-y! this week. It's like it was written specifically to hit the comics blog sweet spot, or something. It's the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah of comic books.

Garrett Martin, Monday, 11 June 2007 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

it also felt like an ad (in a good way) for the Showcase Presents the Atom. IT MIGHT WORK.

Dr. Superman, Monday, 11 June 2007 18:32 (eighteen years ago)

Just read last week's Detective (or was it from the week before? I'm only visiting the shop every second Wed or Thursday lately, and even then, only getting like 4 mags a visit), and yeah, Dini can bollocks up Countdown all he wants, as long as he continues to give us ART WEINER.
