Produced by Bruce Timm (Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Animated Series) and written by Duane Capizzi (The Batman), Superman Doomsday is inspired by the best-selling graphic novel of all time, DC's The Death of Superman. The complete 70+ minute movie will be shown along with a [nerd convention] panel featuring the film's creators. Superman Doomsday features the voices of Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Serenity) as Superman, Anne Heche (Men In Trees) as Lois Lane, and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Lex Luthor, and is rated PG-13.

:( @ no George Newbern, Dana Delaney, or Clancy Brown as Luthor.

I wonder how large Jurgens' royalty checks are, presuming royalties were in place for DC at the time.

I'm also amused by the fact that Anne Heche is most noteworthy for Men In Trees.

"Men In Trees" is shorter than "Batshit Loon With Career-Convenient Lesbionic Tendencies".

I'll never forget Volcano.

"Batshit Loon With Career-Convenient Lesbionic Tendencies"

Someone just spoiled my long gestating ALL STAR LOIS LANE mini proposal.

There's also a new Titans animovie upcoming (based on The Judas Contract), but that also has naught all to do with the series.

And a similar animated adaptation of The New Frontier, as well.

Two whedonverse actors!

Animated New Frontier actually sounds very cool!

That is pretty cool. The Batman animation stuff DC has done over the past couple decades or so is really perhaps the best take ever done on the character. It looks like Timm was both mixing the classic golden age Batman tale vs. Hugo Strange with the later Englehart/Rogers one as that character with the white hair I would assume is Silver St. Cloud instead of Julie Madison.

Matt Wagner - Batman vs. Monster Men & vs. Mad Professor
Englehart/Rogers - Strange Apparitions
Moench/Gulacy - Prey & Terror

Those along with the original Batman Hugo Strange & Vampire Cult stories from the late 30s, which I think are two of the cooler golden age Batman comics.
