Amadeo, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 14:50 (eighteen years ago)

Ant-Man only makes it to #12, while Shadowpact is up to #17? WHAT?

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 15:03 (eighteen years ago)

McDuffie will get me reading JLA.

I like how the Ant-Man solicit begs for a "save this book" campaign.

Garrett Martin, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 15:06 (eighteen years ago)

Yay Question book. That "All Flash" cover is getting lots of hilarious nerd-hate on Nerdsarama. I quite like it.

Chuck_Tatum, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 15:11 (eighteen years ago)

There are so many sketchy one-shots and minis coming from both ends. COUNTDOWN PRESENTS THE SEARCH FOR RAY PALMER: WILDSTORM? TALES OF THE SINESTRO CORPS PRESENTS PARALLAX? 52 AFTERMATH: THE FOUR HORSEMEN? A PENANCE MINI? Come on!

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

NO COLONS EVER

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 15:30 (eighteen years ago)

Amadeo, u r not alone. I'd follow McDuffie to the depths of hell. Or JLMeltzer.

Leee, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

The only drawback for McDuffie going to JLA is that he'll (I assume) leave Fantastic Four, which has returned from the depths JMS sunk it to & is ACTUALLY FUN.

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

I'm sure he can handle both books at once.

Garrett Martin, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

Ha - I'm more concerned w/ Marvel "asking him to leave" than him actually cutting bait.

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

so they aren't cool with non-exclusives doing high-profile work with both companies? I know Giffen's doing a lot for both, but I guess Annihilation was nowhere near as big a priority as FF, especially in a movie year. Wasn't there some rumor a few weeks/months ago, maybe from LITG, about another FF creative change before the year was up? Perhaps you're on to something. But yeah, that would suck. Fantastic Four has been a lot of fun lately.

Garrett Martin, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 17:38 (eighteen years ago)

They might be OK w/ it, but jerky shit's been done in the past involving creators switching sides or doing double-duty (tho it's primarily involved exclusivity, I think). Barry Kitson signed an exclusive w/ DC halfway through a Marvel mini; instead of letting him finish, they kicked him off the book. I'm pretty sure DC did the same thing when Pascual Ferry signed w/ Marvel, giving him his walking papers after he finished only the 1st issue of the Mister Miracle Seven Soldiers mini. I'm trying to think of writerly examples, but I'm coming up blank.

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

Question: who the fuck demanded an UNCLE SAM & THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS ongoing? And can I hurt them?

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 18:07 (eighteen years ago)

USFF will NEVER GET CANCELLED. Palmo-Gray must work cheap. I can't think of any other reason why they're writing EVERYTHING.

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 19:50 (eighteen years ago)

EVERYTHING or ANYTHING???

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 19:57 (eighteen years ago)

Also boooooooooo to the Gerber Doctor Fate getting shunted into another 8-issue RETURN TO MYSTERIES IN THE HOUSE OF SPACE mini (tho it's solely due to Gerber's health issues).

I'm thinking DC would greenlight a RETURN OF DOBIE GILLIS ongoing (by James Robinson & Don Perlin) right now.

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

That BATMAN cover (#669) is delightful - I'm hoping the coming "Batmen Of All Nations" (a phrase that inspires no small amount of joy in me as I type it) arc will be a return to quality ("quality" being the prose issue and that one where Batman fought like a zillion Man-bats).

The IMMORTAL IRON FIST ANNUAL also looks nifty.

R Baez, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

Also a nifty cover: NEW X-MEN #42

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:19 (eighteen years ago)

Aye.

hilarious nerd-hate

No other kind, really.

R Baez, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:21 (eighteen years ago)

Oh yeah, Dan Brereton = SOLD! (is he doing the insides too?)

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:22 (eighteen years ago)

also, is Peter David on Shulk (not solicited, but announced) worth keeping up with?

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

Did you just read my post in the Sadface thread, or are you just happy to see me?

David R., Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

wtf! CREEEPY

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:26 (eighteen years ago)

DAREDEVIL #101
Written by ED BRUBAKER
Penciled by MICHAEL LARK
Cover by MARKO DJURDJEVIC
Things couldn't be going worse for Matt Murdock. Everything he thought he'd gotten back teeters on the edge of a precipice, ready to shatter all around him, as he fights a battle on both fronts of his life–in the courtroom and on the rooftops of Hell's Kitchen!

I like the fact that this is a fair description of four-fifths of the past twenty years of DAREDEVIL issues.

R Baez, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 20:27 (eighteen years ago)

So is this Flash thing a volte-face due to poor sales, or all Part of Derr Masterplang?

Chuck_Tatum, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 21:53 (eighteen years ago)

depends on who you ask, I'd guess.
