Here's the listiepoo. This is an unofficial list, tho - Diamond doesn't post their "we know for damn sure this is getting shipped list" until 5 PM EST on Mondays.

But, anyway, it looks like a lightish week. Highlights pour moi:
- SLEEPER VOLUME TWO!!!!
- more Warren Ellis FF action (in Ultimate FF); stretchy organs woot!
- avoiding Doom Patrol #1
- the (next to?) last issue of X-Statix

Okay, I'm excited about the ElfQuest. Aside from the extreme inconsistency in some of them because of rearranging the stories in chronological order (a lot of the non-Pinis who've done EQ have really sucked), those have been a damn good buy. And I've lost most of my ElfQuest comics over the years except for a few of the magazines.

I only just got Ultimate FF #7 in the mail a couple days ago! (I have a subscription.) #8 is already shipping? Ellis's arc is off to a good start, though -- I got this subscription free when I renewed Ultimate Spidey, and I've been happy with it.

I read the second Sleeper trade last night! It really is good. I'm struggling with whether to pick it up in issues now or wait for the next trade. It actually seems pretty issue-centric...there were clear cuts, endings & intros that made me always notice the transition between issues, whereas the trades of Daredevil and Queen & Country for example are a lot more seamless.

Other than that, it looks like a REALLY light week for me, I'll probably just get Batman (although knowing me, I'll probably feel compelled to get a trade of something or other).

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 28 June 2004 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

yikes, another non-priority week for me too.
I'll probably pick up the Green Lantern, because I've been reading it (if you can call it that) since last fall, and it's winding down, like no pointing jumping off until it finishes, right? Maybe the Superman Secret Files, in the hopes that it will make sense of all the stuff going on. Other than that...the store's probably closed on Thursday, which is the day I usually go down, it'll be Canada Day, so I can probably put it off till next week.

UFF #7 came out 2 weeks ago, I think - maybe Marvel's two-fisting UFF for the summer. (UFF = kinda duff acronym, isn't it?)

Jordan, is the Winick arc still going? Can I just state that I just heard DC killed the proposed Lapham / Sienkiewicz Batman arc, and I'm ultra pissed? Especially now that I've seen some of the art? (Scroll down to "Stray Batart" here, & start the countdown until the pimpalicious Rich Johnston shows up & says howdy.)

For Huck - a disheartening review of Superman: Secret Files.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 28 June 2004 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

that figures.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 28 June 2004 16:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I think if I'm going to continue to buy the same cheesy titles I thought were cool when I was 8, I'm going to have to inure myself to disappointment.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 28 June 2004 16:57 (twenty-one years ago)

For Huck - A LINK to the disheartening review of Superman: Secret Files.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 28 June 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah David, it's still Winnick, and it's actually really good. Or maybe after all these hyped runs that turned out to be mediocre (Hush, Azzarello), it's nice to have the opposite.

That Sienkiewicz art is killin' it, too bad it's not going to happen. I'm not familiar with Lapham, or am I?

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 28 June 2004 17:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, Huck, that's what the GI Joe/Transformers/etc revivals are for!

(I actually think the GI Joe revival is pretty damn good, at least what I've read of it -- granted, I only read like the first year's worth.)

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 28 June 2004 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Jordan, David Lapham's the Stray Bullets guy (brief bio and info).

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 28 June 2004 17:26 (twenty-one years ago)

The Thundercats revivals rule! My girlfriend has a couple of the minis that are DARK (i.e. Snarf roasting on a spit, etc.).

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 28 June 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

How is Snarf roasting on a spit dark? I'd think that would be the centerpiece of a joyous festival, followed by the decapitation and dismemberment of Wiley Kit and Wiley Kat.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe Snarf was overcooked.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Either that or it was just his thighs and legs.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I need to pick up Thundercats again, man.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I will have nothing to do with Thundercats, Transformers, GI Joe and to a lesser extent, Ninja Turtles (though what's the lesser version of nothing?) as they are not real. They were toys first (so-so on TMNT, as the original versions were pretty different from what was eventually marketed), and therefore all comics, cartoons and such and NOTHING more than advertisements for products.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to reading my serious Green Lantern comics and eating Hostess® Fruit Pies™.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't forget to feed your sea monkeys!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

If someone can point me at a comic that features the Thundercats eating Snarf, I will give them my eternal gratitude (that is not a euphemism).

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah, Wiley Kit and Wiley Kat hit puberty, and may be into bondage.

I will find out the names of these comics.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 28 June 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Did they ever explain why Lion-O aged and they didn't?

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 21:38 (twenty-one years ago)

(Besides them being Satanspawn, I mean.)
