I think he's best suited to being a toy I played with when I was eight, because that's about the only time I ever cared for him.

This may be the case for Dr. Strange.

I don't know, never had a Dr. Strange toy.

But yeah, actually, that was the first character I thought of when I read this thread. But then I remembered how young me loved the late-'80's Roy Thomas / Jackson Guice on-going, and now I question whether Dr. Strange really belongs on this list.

only someone who has never read the on-going Lee-Ditko, Thomas-Colan, Englehart-Brunner-Colan and Stern-Rogers runs on Dr Strange cld say that abt the master of the mystic arts

Mike Grell's Green Arrow run is great for longbow hunters and about the first 50 issues or so.

Dr. Strange was AWESOME for his first, what, ten years of starring in his own stories? All the way through the Lee/Ditko run (which made up one huge, sprawling epic of a story) and even to the Marshall Rogers stuff in ESSENTIAL V2. But he is tough to write unless you're going to go whole hog and take things to the limit (or beyond: cf, The Silver Surver, Swamp Thing, etc.)

first 50? when did GA lock eyes with GeoBush I? I bailed around #24.
Tony Stark seems to be a good candidate right now. I'm not reading his title, but am rilly enjoying him as supporting player in every other Marvel title right now.
