Once more, INTO THE BREACH.

Let's hope this works...

R Baez, Monday, 20 August 2007 16:37 (eighteen years ago)

SILT-

BATMAN #668 - I don't think that I've ever mentioned that the Squire may very well be my favorite DCU character...
ASTONISHING X-MEN #22 - Endangered Species: Chapter N!
IMMORTAL IRON FIST #8 - ARE YOU READY FOR THE WORLD THAT'S COMING???
THE ORDER #2 - Frankly, this could go either way.

R Baez, Monday, 20 August 2007 16:45 (eighteen years ago)

Batman, Blue Beetle, The Spirit, Annihilation Starlord, Astonishing X-Men, Immortal Iron Fist, The Order, X-Men First Class. That is simply far too many comics.

Garrett Martin, Monday, 20 August 2007 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

Oilyrags, Monday, 20 August 2007 16:57 (eighteen years ago)

The Order -- sceptical, will buy anyway

Spirit -- Saw Darwyn and J Bone at a talk last weekend, 'twas very sad.

BATMAN #668--Morrison/Williams, love it
OUTSIDERS FIVE OF A KIND WEEK 4 METAMORPHO/AQUAMAN--because it's G. Willow Wilson's first comic book!
AMAZING FANTASY OMNIBUS VOL. 1--yeah, like there's gonna be a Vol. 2, but I'm really curious to see all the old Lee/Ditko monster comics... although I will probably try to get this at a massive discount somewhere...
HALO UPRISING #1--Bendis/Maleev, yes? Why not?
IRON MAN #21--"well, now that we've put all that World War Hulk business behind us..."
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN VOL. 17 CLONE SAGA TP--actually I'm going to wait until I can get this for half off at a con somewhere
COMPLETE PEANUTS VOL. 8 1965-1966--this is right about where it hit its prime, isn't it?
COMPLETE TERRY & THE PIRATES VOL. 1 1934-1936--oh man this is beautiful stuff
KAT WHO WALKED IN BEAUTY PANORAMIC DAILIES OF 1920--actually I have this already, freaking gorgeous

Douglas, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, this is a sweet week for me!

Batmoz, Supergirl/Legion, Astonishing X-Men, X-Men, Thunderbolts.

I actually haven't read the previous issue of Batmoz yet, though I bought it -- I guess I'll read them back to back in one sitting now.

I'm actually kinda excited about the current storyline in X-Men! Too bad the art is horrendous, I always love watching the X-Men get smacked around by the Marauders.

I love the Bendis/Maleev team, but I can't allow myself to buy a goddamn video adaptation. I have my limits, please understand. I've bought too many comics lately out of weird loyalties, and I've got to stop with that. Reading these things shouldn't feel like a chore.

Saw Darwyn and J Bone at a talk last weekend, 'twas very sad.

energy flash gordon, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 08:34 (eighteen years ago)

Man, I'd like to get those Peanuts and Krazy Kats! Too expensive right now, though.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 12:50 (eighteen years ago)

Jordan, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 14:41 (eighteen years ago)

For me, this week, it's only:
Iron Fist #8
Black Summer #2

I don't know how you guys can afford some of the comic book habits you're supporting.

Mordechai Shinefield, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 03:13 (eighteen years ago)

there's previews of DC stuff at n'rama. I had forgotten how awesome W. Simonson art is.

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 03:24 (eighteen years ago)

IMMORTAL IRON FIST #8 SUPPLEMENTARY NOTES:

SUMO THUNDER STOMP: UP, DOWN, X+Y+Z

CLAP OF A THOUSAND GALES: BACK, BACK, BACK, FORWARD, A/B/C (depending upon intended intensity of attack)

R Baez, Thursday, 23 August 2007 19:39 (eighteen years ago)

You know, it's not without flaws and the art is totally hideous, but I wish more X-Men stories were as exciting as "Blinded By The Light." Mike Carey is doing a good job of making it seem kinda scary, and stacking the odds against the X-Men, and making this quiet meta-point about how the core X-Men books have ignored the Decimation stuff for so long that the characters aren't ready to deal with the machinations of rival mutant groups. Very good. Please just get Humberto Ramos away from it, okay?

Mr. Perpetua, Thursday, 23 August 2007 19:53 (eighteen years ago)

Showcase WW starts around TEN YEARS too early. And I thought the post-Kirby Challengers were tired and formulaic. While there is plenty of missile straddling, this is the safe-as-milk era between Marston's psycho-sexy bondage and the Emma Peel stuff. Some nice art from Andru & Esposito tho.
