Isn't the Seaguy film due out in November?

The Real Dirty Vicar, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 10:32 (eighteen years ago)

Speaking of Seaguy, didn't Morrison say he held 52 to ransom to make DC would publish Seaguy 2?
Well, where is it?
I want it now.

WE3 film scripted by Morrissey?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 22 August 2007 11:59 (eighteen years ago)

I can't prove it, or even come up with a halfway convincing circumstantial case for it, but I believe that Morrisey and Grant Morrison are the same person. Also? Terence Trent D'Arby and Kyle Baker.

With the director of Kung Fu Panda.

I think I've changed my mind on this. Not because of the director, I just think it's a comic that's particularly ill suited to adaptation to film.

KFP was pretty good! Better than the other generic animals 'n' CGI stuff that's been out lately.

I suspect it's unlikely the movie will actually get made, though -- I'm not sure GM has much movie cachet vs. Miller or Moore.

Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 12 December 2008 18:17 (seventeen years ago)

I don't know that he has much less than they did prior to their first films getting made though. I mean, Moore's stuff is at least as obscure to non-comix-fans as GM's.

Still, I'd be surprised if a WE3 film that bears any close resemblance to the original story could be made. The fact that it's about cute animals limits its appeal in one direction, while its brutality and grimness limit it in another. As a result, I suspect it would have trouble finding a large audience, and it's not like a decent version would be cheap to produce.
