Looks like a whole lotta nothin' much. Is this a sixth ship date for the month or something?

HELLBOY DARKNESS CALLS #5 (OF 6) EX MACHINA MASQUERADE SPECIAL (MR)
― Leee, Monday, 27 August 2007 18:02 (eighteen years ago)
Aye - though any week when a new HELLBOY is expected can't but cross the threshold into "pretty good".
― R Baez, Monday, 27 August 2007 18:03 (eighteen years ago)
Just looked - it is the fifth Wednesday of the month, first time we've seen that since May, and only the third this year.
Still, Hellboy.
― Oilyrags, Monday, 27 August 2007 18:20 (eighteen years ago)
you mean 8/29 right?
NOTHIN. PORMIGO. which means i can maybe drop a little cash on a trade or somethin.
― ian, Monday, 27 August 2007 18:21 (eighteen years ago)
also, WRT teen titans and other recent DC's going up to 3.99: is this temporary? Dude at the shop has not, as per instructions, "noted price" in the past few wweeks.
― ian, Monday, 27 August 2007 18:22 (eighteen years ago)
Just Fantastic Four and Incredible Hulk this week, and eventually the second Fourth World Omnibus.
― Garrett Martin, Monday, 27 August 2007 18:26 (eighteen years ago)
yurf. Yeah, 29th. Sorry about the typo - I hope a Modulator can take care of it.
― Oilyrags, Monday, 27 August 2007 18:45 (eighteen years ago)
Just an FYI: mods can no longer edit thread titles or the posts -- only admins can, so any requests for moderation beyond deleting/banning need to go to the ModReq forum.
― Leee, Monday, 27 August 2007 19:13 (eighteen years ago)
And PS, I've already requested the thread title be changed.
zip zero, stingy with dinero
― Jordan, Monday, 27 August 2007 19:37 (eighteen years ago)
nothing for me, either! HOORAY!
― Dr. Superman, Monday, 27 August 2007 22:34 (eighteen years ago)
Nothing for me, though I might pick up that Teen Titans next week.
The 3.99 price is just cos it's a double-sized issue, that's all.
― Mr. Perpetua, Monday, 27 August 2007 23:19 (eighteen years ago)
Batman Annual by Peter Milligan, c'mon! He has a good rep with Batman stories (although -- ulp -- that was over a decade-and-a-half ago).
I might start buying Andy Diggle's Hellblazer, it's been quite alright so far.
And I will probably skim read Four Horseman in the store.
― Chuck_Tatum, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 00:20 (eighteen years ago)
Didn't realize it was by Milligan. I'm always willing to give that guy a shot, despite how bad his stuff often is.
― Garrett Martin, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 00:23 (eighteen years ago)
Speaking as someone almost exclusively following Marvel books.. this has to be the dullest ship in a long long time.
― Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 01:10 (eighteen years ago)
I mean, I'll read Hulk. But only because I love the name "Mastermind Excello."
― Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 01:14 (eighteen years ago)
Nobody's getting Countdown to Adventure? Starring the Spacemen 3 (Animal Man, Adam Strange and Starfire) from 52? Written by FAN FAVOURITE Adam Beechen (first two dozen JLU comics and the last year or so of Robin, all of which are fine and excellent comics)?
― Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 16:04 (eighteen years ago)
So no Hulk this week, but an Avengers Initiative instead.
and no, no countdowns to awkward and unnecessary sequels, for me.
― Garrett Martin, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 16:08 (eighteen years ago)
on weeks where there are no good comics, do you ever buy at least one issue of some shite comic just to look busy?
― The Real Dirty Vicar, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 17:05 (eighteen years ago)
i'm glad i don't run a comic shop on weeks like this
― Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)
Maybe I will do the Milligan/Ras Al Ghul thing. And honestly the "Secrets of the Batcave" trade has a pretty good gimmick.
― Oilyrags, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 17:45 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, um - CHANCE IN HELL, the seventh of like twenty-eight projects Beto's due to release this year.
Though probably not to be purchased this week.
Same goes for KIRBY OMNIBUS.
― R Baez, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 18:25 (eighteen years ago)
AMERICAN VIRGIN #18 SILVER SURFER REQUIEM #4 (You're not all reading this? Get reading.) WORLD WAR HULK X-MEN #3
― Mordechai Shinefield, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 22:20 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, didn't know about that Milligan thing, but man, I don't know, I'm feeling a bit burned by following him whereever he goes.
― Mr. Perpetua, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 22:51 (eighteen years ago)
I warned you guys.
― Leee, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 23:18 (eighteen years ago)
It'll be the end of Amazons Attack for me even though, as I don't buy the entirety of DC's publication list, large chunjks of it make no sense to me whatsoever.
Oh, and the new Mouse Guard - Winter 1152, which I missed last week - although, knowing my luck, it'll probably be sold out as everyone who didn't buy the floppies last time will have jumped onto the bandwagon.
― Stone Monkey, Wednesday, 29 August 2007 10:32 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, good lookin' out re: Chance in Hell.
― Jordan, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:20 (eighteen years ago)
Gracias.
― R Baez, Thursday, 30 August 2007 18:00 (eighteen years ago)
I hate these dud weeks.
― The Real Dirty Vicar, Thursday, 30 August 2007 22:10 (eighteen years ago)
dud weeks + Chance In Hell = DOES NOT COMPUTE.
― energy flash gordon, Friday, 31 August 2007 11:39 (eighteen years ago)
I wish I'd been warmed that the last Blue Beetle would be mostly included in the Teen Titans special double size hoonja doonja. FUCKERS.
― ian, Saturday, 1 September 2007 21:43 (eighteen years ago)
I guess Teen Titans doesn't really need Blue Beetle readers the same way vice versa.
