It was some random issue of Marvel's Star Wars series circa 1984.

Incredible Hulk #132 http://www.hulklibrary.com/hulk/images/covers/tih2/tih2-132-s.jpg
My mom confiscated it from a student who was reading it in class. It must have been '77 or '78; why a student had an issue from 1970 is unclear. Lost in a fire in '81; replaced it at a fleamarket in '88; lost in a move in the mid-'90s. Yet to be re-replaced.

Christ, I have no earthly idea. Probably some Archie or Richie Rich digest purchased to keep me shut up on a long drive.

definitely some form of kids comic featuring characters owned by or related to Disney, Looney Toons, Archie, or Harvey. My grandfather had a sackful that he'd whip out whenever we visited.
First superhero comic that I remember reading was a reprint of the Avengers issue with the first appearance of Zodiac.

Either I had a copy of FF#1, which I don't like to think about, or a Marvel Collectors Item Classics or similar title that reprinted FF#1. I also vaguely remember a JLA story when I was first starting to read (1968) -- the Atom using the word "molecule" really put the love of words into me.

Also there was a Ditko Spider-Man at the barber shop when I was wee tiny.

I only remember reading the Dell (Gold Key, maybe?) The Fox and the Hound miniseries, random issues of The House of Mystery, and Muppet Babies up through age six. I don't know how aware I was of superheroes (outside of the Hulk TV show and Spider-Man's appearances on The Electric Company), but I think I was generally unaware of superhero comics at that time.
First superhero comic: a big Marvel Treasury comic about Spider-Man and Hulk (natch) at the winter Olympics, and a little black and white paperback collection of early Fantastic Four issues that my dad had.
First indie comic: the second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection. Some time before the cartoon, etc. INDIE CRED.

KAMANDI #22 or #23. It started with a giant radioactive bee and got stranger from there. It never stuck, though, as I wasn't a regular comic buyer back then (was all of 6). This was one of those "get a comic thrust in your hands to keep you quiet on the plane" sorts of things. After that it wasn't until DYNAMITE magazine reprinting some of the Marvel Origins stories and the acquisition of ORIGINS OF MARVEL COMICS itself before I got the bug. Then it was on to MICRONAUTS. Ah, MICRONAUTS...

The first comic I actually remember reading is Prog 6 (or Programme as they were still calling them then iirc)of 2000AD. There was a M.A.C.H. 1 story which I remember thinking was cool at the time - and I don't still have it. Although I did continue reading 2000AD on and off for the next 20 years or so.
This is odd because I would have been at least 6 at the time and had been reading for a good few years before then so I must have encountered comics before. I just don't remember any of them...
Although, as many of my friends have pointed out, my early childhood was so fucking horrible that its no wonder I've blotted out a fair chunk of it.

This Superboy and the LoSH issue.
I was 4 or 5, visiting family friends. Spent the day huddled over a pile of late '60s DC comics. Mainly Superman dealing with Q energy, various colors of kryptonite, and some "imaginary stories".
But I remember this LoSH issue and the following one, w/ a cover of Colossal Boy smashing two machines together, strongly. The number of powered characters all in one place was like neopolitan ice cream.

those little comics that came with He-Man action figures.

What If v2 11: What if the Fantastic Four all had the same power? Which for some reason I thought was awesome. I remember a scene where Sue turns into a version of Man Thing and they all have to exile themselves in Monster Island. Man Thing Sue crying was something heartbreaking for my eight year old self.
