From Persepolis to Iron FUCKING Man it's going to be a very special year for nerds!

In no order:
Cloverfield
Rambo
Iron Man
Speed Racer
Prince Caspian
Indian Jones and the Sagging Jowls
Kung Fu Panda (I don't know what this is, but AWESOME)
Incredible HULK
Hellboy 2: the Search for Indiana Jones' Disappointed Fanbase
THE DARK MOTHERFUCKING KNIGHT BEEYATCHES
Pineapple Express
Where the Wild Things Are
Scanners (remake involving D. Goyer)
The Day The Earth Stood Still

Scanners has quite a money shot to live up to. How many sequels did that eventually spawn? I know I rented a few of them, all worse than the original. Is Goyer directing, writing or producing? Blade 3 was surprisingly unenjoyable, given how much I liked the previous two.

The Day The Earth Stood Still: "it's not a remake, it's a reimagining".

Most looking forward to Hellboy 2 and hoping Iron Man turns out well. Teasers look promising.

I'm being really pedantic here, but Persepolis is 2007!

Pineapple Express = new Seth Rogen movie.

"summer" is also innapropriate for that list of movies

Persepolis was quite good, I started an ILE thread about it a while ago:

Persepolis the movie

It's a pity most comic book adaptations are made in live action, because Persepolis and the Corto Maltese movie proved animation could often be the better medium.

there's a Corto Maltese movie?

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 03:22 (eighteen years ago)

Yup. An animated feature film based on the Siberian adventure:

It's quite good, about as faithful as comic book adaptation can be. Not that fidelity to the original is necessarily a good thing, but in this case it is.
