Here it is!

Douglas, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 00:22 (seventeen years ago)

For me, while we're waiting:

OMEGA THE UNKNOWN #3--still seems odd that Marvel's publishing this, but I'm not complaining
WORLD WAR HULK AFTERSMASH--who can resist that title? Besides, I think Pak is writing it.
POPEYE VOL 2 WELL BLOW ME DOWN HC--actually I have this already
FOLLOWING CEREBUS #11--well blow me down, hasn't it been a while since the last issue?

Douglas, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 00:26 (seventeen years ago)

L.Jo: The Iron Prometheus and Howard the Duck.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 01:27 (seventeen years ago)

Quite a relief to have a light week, too.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 01:28 (seventeen years ago)

FOLLOWING CEREBUS #11--well blow me down, hasn't it been a while since the last issue?

Editor's female void dumped him and took their kid to another state, I think. Actually that may have been in an editorial in the last issue, which was a year or more after the previous - this one's picking up the pace by comparison!

Just that and YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY POPEYE VOLUME 2 for me, but a week with Popeye is better than any other week of comics in any year.

DANGER GIRL BODY SHOTS TP: lol!

For realzie:
ROBIN #169 - Ghul'ish.
SWORD #3 - Hot paraplegic martial arts action!
HOWARD THE DUCK #3 - I hate myself and Marvel for my reading this. But mostly Marvel.
OMEGA UNKNOWN #3 - I <3 Lethem.
THE ORDER #5 -"I'm Miss American Dream since I was seventeen..."
UNCANNY X-MEN #493 - Cable + Baby? Paul Reiser in the film version.
WORLD WAR HULK AFTERSMASH - "HULK AFTERSMASH!": Like the placenta :(
IRON & THE MAIDEN #0 - I don't know what this is, but I love this series!

Actually looking forward to: Uncanny, because MC has been bitchin, Sword, cause the Luna Brothers are bitchin, and Iron & The Maiden.

aldo, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 11:54 (seventeen years ago)

I'm waiting for Amazon to ship my Popeye.

Best sentence ever.

M.V., Tuesday, 4 December 2007 13:36 (seventeen years ago)

All New Atom, Infinity Inc, Robin, Avengers Initiative Annual, and The Order should be in my folder. It isn't new, but I'm also going to finally pick up the fifth Gotham Central trade, which I believe contains that Dead Robin story that Douglas (or somebody) has talked up around these parts on at least a few occasions.

Garrett Martin, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 14:02 (seventeen years ago)

Just Omega, I think, and the last few weeks of stuff

Jordan, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 15:26 (seventeen years ago)

Sword #3 - I too cannot get enough of that hot paraplegic martial arts action.
Utimates 3 #1 - Given who's drawing it, it's ain't exactly going to be the most regular of titles, is it?
Lobster Johnson: The Iron Prometheus #4 - More two-fisted crustacean goodness!

Stone Monkey, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 16:35 (seventeen years ago)

LO JO #4
OMEGA #3
BUFFY #9
ORDER #5

NOT GETTING THIS, BUT:

TWELVE #0

Try saying this aloud when in a contemplative state and at a steady repeated rate. Thus may transcendence may be achieved.

R Baez, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 19:14 (seventeen years ago)

nothing at all--though I might get HtheDuck if they've got the first two issues

Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 21:53 (seventeen years ago)

hey how come there's a bunch of Marvels that are priced pi? that's fucked up

Dr. Superman, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 21:55 (seventeen years ago)

Dr. Superman, don't bother. HtheDuck is awful. AWFUL.

It makes me cry.

Mordechai Shinefield, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 03:21 (seventeen years ago)

Not that this is, you know -- a surprise -- but Arena and Ultimates are both the most godawful comics I can remember reading in a long time.

Chuck_Tatum, Thursday, 6 December 2007 14:51 (seventeen years ago)

I didn't think Ultimates was THAT bad.
Atom was just okay, a little less fun than last week (less giantess action.)

ian, Friday, 7 December 2007 01:20 (seventeen years ago)

Ugh, I just read Ultimates and I'm with Chuck. Ugh!

Rock Hardy, Friday, 7 December 2007 01:36 (seventeen years ago)

Nothing new for me this week on the lists. I did just buy a BUNCH of back issues of Legends of the Dark Knight, Shadow of the Bat, Gotham Knights and Detective last week.

earlnash, Friday, 7 December 2007 02:59 (seventeen years ago)

I re-read the Ultimates while sober, and yeah, it kinda sucks.

ian, Friday, 7 December 2007 17:25 (seventeen years ago)

also, i still hate Peter Milligan. That issue of Robin was awful.

ian, Friday, 7 December 2007 17:25 (seventeen years ago)

Re: Ultimates, does Jeff Lobe always suck that hard? I haven't read much of his work.

Rock Hardy, Friday, 7 December 2007 17:55 (seventeen years ago)

yes, jeff loeb is one of the worst comic bk writers of all time, fer real

no sign of motherfuggin popeye vol2 at forbidden planet glasgow

Ward Fowler, Friday, 7 December 2007 20:01 (seventeen years ago)

jeff loeb is one of the worst comic bk writers of all time

OTM, even with the misspelling of his stupid name.

HI DERE, Friday, 7 December 2007 20:20 (seventeen years ago)

I like The Long Halloween. And, erm, Fallen Son. And...

...

Um.

...

Batman/The Spirit.

Ok. I've run out.

Mordechai Shinefield, Friday, 7 December 2007 21:50 (seventeen years ago)

Some of Bats/Supes wasn't so bad.

Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 7 December 2007 22:37 (seventeen years ago)

Fables - good
ASS - pretty okay
Omega - forgot to read
New Tales of Old Palomar - great, weird
Batman - terrible, rite? would be it less terrible if i had read all the stupid crossover stuff?
She-Hulk - still pretty fun, actually!

Jordan, Monday, 10 December 2007 15:14 (seventeen years ago)

Ultimates #3 - fuck me that was horrible. I know Mark Millar isn't exactly Shakespeare but in comparison Jeph Loeb is quite appallingly bad on this. And I'm really not a fan of the art either. This thing has no redeeming features whatsoever that I can see. Even the colours were muddy and ugly..

Stone Monkey, Monday, 10 December 2007 17:06 (seventeen years ago)

jordan--batman would only have been less terrible by comparison with the utter crap that is Milligan's Robin.

ian, Monday, 10 December 2007 22:00 (seventeen years ago)

Ultimates #3 - fuck me that was horrible.

I thought the first two series were pretty good, but Loeb seems to be preparing the, eh, mise-en-scène for the arrival of Badrock and the Goddamn Batman.

M.V., Tuesday, 11 December 2007 15:59 (seventeen years ago)

Omega is getting more fun.

Jordan, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 16:27 (seventeen years ago)

I thought the first two series were pretty good, but Loeb seems to be preparing the, eh, mise-en-scène for the arrival of Badrock and the Goddamn Batman.

OTM, though there's this one thing that Millar did in the first two series that drove me nuts, and I'm going to collage together a bunch of examples of it when I get past the current deadline.

Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 17:25 (seventeen years ago)

Self-publicity dept (again, sorry). The magazine where I work just published a small(but sweet) Julie Doucet comic for free download, if anyone's interested. I also did an exceedingly brief email interview with her. It's here, if you're interested. Enjoy!
