I haven't read any war journal since the neo-nazi saga ended. Has it picked up?
― Mordechai Shinefield, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:50 (eighteen years ago)
Aye - special mention of the WWH tie-in which featured a gun that had swords as ammunition LISTWISE...
BPRD 1946: I GUESS. PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL: "I hate everybody." TEEN TITANS LOST AN ANNUAL: Help them find it.
― R Baez, Monday, 7 January 2008 21:15 (eighteen years ago)
Is BPRD as good as people seem to think it is?
For me: SHOWCASE PRESENTS ROBIN THE BOY WONDER--my kind of fun SPIRIT #12--'bye, Darwyn TEEN TITANS THE LOST ANNUAL--not just Bob Haney, but Mike Allred! AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #546--oh, what the hell, might as well try it ESSENTIAL CAPTAIN AMERICA TP VOL. 4--the Englehart/Gerber era MIGHTY AVENGERS #7--perhaps it will start to pick up momentum again, schedule-wise JUDGE DREDD COMPLETE CASE FILES VOL. 9--I love this series and this period of it
― Douglas, Monday, 7 January 2008 22:06 (eighteen years ago)
Nothing. Good thing I have my guilty pleasure Aliens vs Predator Omnibus to read. :/
― Jordan, Monday, 7 January 2008 22:16 (eighteen years ago)
X-Factor Green Lantern Corps Infinity Inc. Mighty Avengers -- I guess, I don't know.
― Mr. Perpetua, Monday, 7 January 2008 23:28 (eighteen years ago)
I don't know anything about BPRD 1946, but it's a new Hellboy-related series, and I always seem to miss out on these until they're halfway through, and the title promises NAZI GORILLAS IN ARGENTINA, right?
― Dr. Superman, Monday, 7 January 2008 23:33 (eighteen years ago)
I think BPRD is as good as people seem to think it is, but I think it's that's because I'm one of those people who think it's terrif.
BPRD '46 Infinifty Inc. The Spirit
― Oilyrags, Monday, 7 January 2008 23:35 (eighteen years ago)
Holy crap if I didn't read that post upthread from Douglas I probably would've missed the part about that Titans annual being by Mike Allred! Wow! That's exciting, I totally loved Allred's Titans thing in his issue of Solo.

MIGHTY AVENGERS #7--perhaps it will start to pick up momentum again, schedule-wise
Cho is gone after #6 or 7, right? I assume he was the holdup. Not that I want Sal Buscema back or anything, but it is nice when books stick to a schedule (which is why I like The Boys and Buffy even more than I would normally, which is a lot).
― Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 22:37 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, Cho's gone. Bagley's drawing this arc.
― Douglas, Tuesday, 8 January 2008 22:48 (eighteen years ago)
See, I don't even know why I should bother with Mighty Avengers from this point on, other than that I enjoy New Avengers and Bendis. I think Bagley's art is ugly and I'm not really into the main cast -- I might be dumb to stick around if the art isn't going to be pretty.

"JUDGE DREDD COMPLETE CASE FILES VOL. 9"
Are these being printed for the US market or only UK? I've managed to track down a few of the Titan Books reprints in the states, but I had not seen these before.
After taking a look, it doesn't seem to be the case, as I can find them on Amazon.uk but not in the Amazon in the USA.

Diamond carries them! And the new one was at two stores I went to today in NYC!
― Douglas, Thursday, 10 January 2008 03:37 (eighteen years ago)

How much do they run, about $25 bucks?

Douglas in NYC??? For how long? FAP?
― ian, Thursday, 10 January 2008 18:41 (eighteen years ago)
Didn't hate Spider-Man as much as I thought I would (and I thought the mini arcs in the back of the issue were ACE).
― Mordechai Shinefield, Friday, 11 January 2008 04:59 (eighteen years ago)
Okay, so as BPRD 1946 is grebt.
― rogermexico., Sunday, 13 January 2008 01:10 (eighteen years ago)
Finally caught up on all the Punisher WJ's I had fallen behind on and I've only got one thing to say: Rhino during the Kraven arc is one of the most heartbreaking characters ever. When he's writing the letter, I felt so bad for him. :(
Give Rhino his own title written by Fraction, plz. kthx.

I thought Amazing Spider-Man was pretty nice, actually -- they were wise to dump all the bullshit and make it more like what most people want from the character. It was a nice hodgepodge of the movie, the cartoon, Spidey Luvs MJ, Ultimate Spider-Man, etc. Just get rid of the shit that doesn't work, you know?
― Mr. Perpetua, Sunday, 13 January 2008 15:12 (eighteen years ago)
Douglas in NYC only briefly, I'm afraid--I'm back in Portland now. Will try to offer some advance notice next time.
― Douglas, Sunday, 13 January 2008 16:27 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, Douglas. Next time we can have an ILC extravaganza. :)
