The list is up here.

Douglas, Monday, 28 January 2008 19:32 (seventeen years ago)

For me:

BATMAN #673--G.Mo = auto-buy
SPIRIT #13--very curious to see the new take on it, although with some trepidation
Y THE LAST MAN #60--but of course
CAPTAIN AMERICA #34--oh, I was hoping it'd just go on forever without a title character
DAREDEVIL #104--more Brubakery goodness
MIGHTY AVENGERS #8--who knows what will happen? Oh, right, we found out five months ago
NEW AVENGERS ANNUAL #2--Skrully Skrully Skrully
WHAT IF? SPIDER-MAN VS. WOLVERINE--right, a riff on a 20-year-old comic, but it's one of my favorite superhero stories... and I trust Tobin & Parker

Douglas, Monday, 28 January 2008 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

Batman
Jack of Fables
Y (is this Y the Last Issue??)

Jordan, Monday, 28 January 2008 19:53 (seventeen years ago)

BATMAN #673 - The Beginning of the End or the End of the Beginning???
SPIRIT #13 - we shall see
CASANOVA TP VOL 01 LUXURIA - should I???
MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS #6 - fine line between mindblowingly awesome and soulcrushingly dull
AVENGERS INITIATIVE #9 - apparently, I have been buying this all along!
CAPTAIN AMERICA #34 - is this where the suck starts?
SPIDER-MAN WITH GREAT POWER #1 (OF 5) - pls be City of Crime Lapham and not Spectre Lapham

Dr. Superman, Monday, 28 January 2008 20:06 (seventeen years ago)

It *is* the last Y issue.

For me:
JACK OF FABLES #19
DAREDEVIL #104
BLACK SUMMER #5

Um. No X-comix this week?

Mordy, Monday, 28 January 2008 20:35 (seventeen years ago)

BATMAN: recapturing the garish spirit of Prince's "Bat-dance" video.

aldo, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 09:36 (seventeen years ago)

Only Black Summer for me I think

There doesn't seem to be much else out this week, so I might indulge myself in the Casanova trade.

Stone Monkey, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 17:18 (seventeen years ago)

Re: Y the Last Man: I'm reading library trades, so won't see # 60 for months. How are you monthly readers enjoying it? Satisfactory, unhurried, logical conclusion? Happy with the various characters' resolutions?

Spoiler-free, preferably, so generalities are fine.

scampering alpaca, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 18:10 (seventeen years ago)

Batman
Spirit - even though it would completely alter the tone, I'd love to see Aragones draw an issue too
Avengers Initiative
Captain America
Daredevil
Fantastic Four

Garrett Martin, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 18:39 (seventeen years ago)

I think Y has gotten pretty wack and I don't really care about it anymore, but don't let me stop you.

Jordan, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 19:19 (seventeen years ago)

I just read the Noosarama BKV interview. Sounds like I'll be content.

scampering alpaca, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 20:26 (seventeen years ago)

Y: still enjoying, but it's been so drawn out in the gaps between issues that I've sort of lost track of what's going on and who is who. Need to reread, and not be annoyed about the explanation for the mass male-death, which seemed a bit feeble.

James Morrison, Wednesday, 30 January 2008 00:54 (seventeen years ago)

BATMAN #673
CASANOVA TP VOL 01 LUXURIA

I'll probably also eventually get the Green Lantern and Action issues.

earlnash, Wednesday, 30 January 2008 02:37 (seventeen years ago)

I've been reading the Action stuff, for the rilly fab Gary Frank art, but it's just one more example of GJohns RILLY RILLY not knowing how to hang a story on a six-issue clothesline.

Dr. Superman, Wednesday, 30 January 2008 02:59 (seventeen years ago)

Y THE LAST MAN #60

lolnouement

Rock Hardy, Thursday, 31 January 2008 01:55 (seventeen years ago)

nothing off this list for me BUT! I went to the bookshop for my monthly hassling them on what happened to the shit I ordered in early November AND! came away with

MOME #9 - short on Hensley, but scary Columbia cats and a consistent vibe
MOOMIN vol 2 - the obi wasn't even mangled this time
and
COMIC ART #9 - including the wee book
CARTOONING: PHILOSOPHY AND PRACTICE by Brunetti

None of you are having as good a comics week as me.

energy flash gordon, Thursday, 31 January 2008 06:24 (seventeen years ago)

I don't know man, GENE SIMMONS ZIPPER #3 is pretty fuckin' tight.

Garrett Martin, Thursday, 31 January 2008 12:12 (seventeen years ago)

Uhm, just NARCOPOLIS, even though they (Avatar) charge too much for their comics. I've broken the singles habit for the most part, but allow for the occasional rogue purchase. Maybe one of the Brubaker X-Men trades just to see how he handles the team. Though I'd probably feel better if I got the second CRIMINAL trade instead, huh?

Matt M., Thursday, 31 January 2008 15:23 (seventeen years ago)

Criminal is my favorite comic to buy in singles, just because of the noir reviews/interviews/etc. in the back.

Jordan, Thursday, 31 January 2008 15:52 (seventeen years ago)

COMIC ART issue 9 was the best single volume...thing...I bought new last year (tho' truth be told I found the Brunetti booklet to be a bit rigid/narrow-minded/overly didactic)

Ward Fowler, Thursday, 31 January 2008 22:28 (seventeen years ago)

I don't know man, GENE SIMMONS ZIPPER #3 is pretty fuckin' tight.

try WD40, maybe?

oh yeah and in the same seven days, but last week, I got a parcel from Fanta including POPEYE VOLUME 2 FINALLY, one of those less-than-half-price complete sets of Love & Rockets v.II, the latest TCJ with Jeffrey Brown interview and about a hundred pre-Krazy Herriman strips (which are SOLID GOLD), latest Runaway and Thrizzle, new Forney sex ad book, about a dozen TCJs from 1982-1992 (soo classic), Chance In Hell and some other stuff I can't remember. BOO-YAH.

Haven't read the Brunetti - the extracts on Daily Cross-Hatch way back did seem a bit stiff though... ah well, it's a college course, not a personal rumination.

energy flash gordon, Friday, 1 February 2008 00:54 (seventeen years ago)

I just read Moomin vol. 2, flash gordon(!), and yer in for a treat and a half.

I haven't gone yet this week, so I am trying not to read this thread too much for fear of SPOILERS, but probably:
bats
cap n daredevil
casanova trade (important enough to have in a book, and to minimize the chances of damaging/losing my singles.)

ian, Friday, 1 February 2008 04:24 (seventeen years ago)

(trade also good for convincing yer friends who don't have the time/energy for the density of the issues and need the great physical framework of a 'real book.')
